Your home and neighborhood

Do you like your home and neighborhood?

I like ours but wish our house was a little bigger.
Its a beige house with trim the color of THIS blue. Its got a fence (in the same blue) around the backyard with country heart cutouts in the top which I thought was really cute when we first looked at this house!
It's small though, only 2 bedrooms and a way too tiny, though cute, 50s like, kitchen.

I LOVE our neighborhood. We live in an older part of the town , so lots of big trees and older houses with big porches and character. (Ours just has a stoop, no porch, but I stilll sit out there a lot nonetheless.)
We live right across the street from a city park and in walking distance to downtown. We go downtown for FLICS at the Fox Theatre, music and reading a Dagny's coffeehouse, Vests for quick drugstore pickups....or just a soda and sit at one of the tables and read the paper and people watch. Good Will store and the antiques and soda fountain at the Woolworths building.

How about you, do you like your home and neighborhood?

hugs, train

I live my neighborhood. We live out of town but still close enough that the highschool is only 2 miles away.

Our road only has about 10 house on it. It is very quite not alot cars on it. We all have big yards. If you want to talk to your neighbor you have to walk across your yard and theres to say hi. So I wave alot.

Our neighbourhood is ok.
Our street is the best part of our neighbourhood. I think there are quite a few areas I wouldn't feel too comfortable walking alone in, but I do feel safe in my immediate neighbourhood.

There are a few local primary schools, but they have built an extra estate round them and there aren't enough primary school places for the amount of houses that have been built.

It isn't a far drive though to be in the countryside which is lovely. It is only an 1/2 hour bus ride to our local town.

Yes I love my house it needs some painting done but nothing I can't live with. I have a nice big porch on front and love it. It is on a quiet street and I have several very nice neighbors. The house is brick with viynal (sp) siding where it is wood. We are by the woods so lots of squirrels and deer, geese, and ducks. There are fox here too but have not seen any in our yard yet. And of course got racoons and possum too.

I only wish that the coal trucks would not leave a smell when they drive by...other than that I can't complain about nothing...

I love my house and neighborhood. I live 1/2 way between Atlanta, GA and Charlotte, NC, in Anderson, SC, just off I-85. I'm 10 miles from town but the town is coming closer. A large grocery store was built 2 miles from my house 2 1/2 yrs. ago and they now have Triple Coupons once a month for a 3 day weekend.
My home is a 3 BR brick rancher with a separate 2 car garage with a workshop in side. The house and garage sit on 5 acres, 3 of which I keep in woods. I love to see the deer go into my woods, knowing it is a haven for them with all the building l mile from me. My neighbors are mostly older who have been here for many years, so I know many of them. It is a quiet community most of the time. We've had a car accident by a drunk driver 2 yrs. ago when he took "the back road" to avoid the police. It didn't work as he totaled the car and went to jail because I was up at 1:30AM when he totaled the car in front of my house! Has not happened again.
I live alone in my home, love the privacy of pine trees lining my property. Each home in this development has 5 acres or more, one reason I bought here.

We have a rancher and I love it. I love being all on 1 floor. We have no basement. Our house was a factory at 1 time. It was made into a home. So it is very large and spacous.

We saw baby deer today in the back yard. The fawns are lucky if they are 4 or 5 days old. They could hardly walk. We live next to a county park/resouver. The lake is down the road from us. The horse trails are right behind our property. We have all kinds of wildlife. The turkeys and deer are my favorite. We have a farm across the street. There pond is right across from our drive way. So this time of year you hear the bull frogs and crickets. All the geese and baby's have left now.

My Neighborhood

I love living in my neighborhood and so does my DH. The weather is great can be outside everyday except when it is raining.
We are only two miles from a mall and are within five miles of two large Hospitals East or West. Loads of doctors are in the area.

My house is yellow which is cheerful. I am only a block from the club house and pool. We are a private community of 650 homes. Many come to the pool every day for exercise classes and swimming. It is a selling point for resales.

The people are friendly and contribute their time to keep costs down to run it. It makes them feel important doing what they were trained for.

They perform in plays and musical events money raised is for the community. There are pot luck dinners and soup and sandwich affairs.

All kind of crafts and card games for whoever want to join. Singles and woman clubs have luncheons and dinners together.

Group cruises and trips are arranged too.

After living here for twenty years could not live anywhere else.
