I have lived in Va. Beach all my life. It's a very nice city, mostly suburban except for the new "town center", which is in downtown. Population is around 450,000. There are lots of restaurants, malls, theatres, and clubs/bars. Oceanfront is lined with hotels and the beach itself is very large. Real Estate can be a tad bit pricy in some areas. Va. Beach is a part of the hampton roads metropolitan area or the "seven cities" (as we call it here), an area with a total population of about 1.6 Million.
