Mini Corndogs - TNT

These are as good as the store-bought ones!!!!

9 oz. Jiffy cornbread mix; prepare as directed on package
8 hot dogs; sliced into bite size pieces
pretzel sticks

Preheat oven to 350F. Pour cornbread batter into mini-muffin tin, filling only 1/2 of each well. Put 1 hot dog slice in each well. Fill wells with batter and poke pretzel stick into each. Bake for 10 minutes.

these sound like alot of fun to make with the kids and they are always wanting the carnival kind of corndogs. Maybe we can see if they like these better. thanks

This will be a great Sunday-before-the-races treat for my kids. They should love helping to make these!

variations!!!

Some other things I have tried with these corndogs...... when mixing the cornmeal, add a handful (appx 2T) of chili powder. It gives it almost a cinnamony, but spicy flavor (it's NOT hot or too spicy, though), or add minced green onion or green chiles, or even try cheddar cheese. Or you could also add honey to make it sweeter, depending on the kid of cordogs you like!!! And experiment, you'll love it! And your child will never get bored!
