Man am I glad to get this journal!! I certainly hope it helps me to get organized in my life. I feel like there is so much of my life scattered throughout this house that if my head were not attached to my shoulders I would have misplaced it years ago!!!
I am going to go room by room....clean everything out of drawers, closets, off the walls, etc. clean the room from top to bottom and rearrange furniture (if that is what I intend to do in that room, change curtains, etc.) and then I am going to continue this until my house is organized and clean.
It's not filthy now...it is clean..just unorganized!
Once I have tackled that job...I will tackle the immense job of sorting and cataloging recipes, books, etc. My recipes will come first as they are scattered here and yonder.
My hope is to do all of this, especially the major house cleaning and organizing before Christmas holidays.
Recipes will be a continuing organizational thing. Once I get them set up the way I want them, I feel that I will not have a problem organizing new ones.
Wish me luck ladies and continued good health to be able to do this.
I need some "accountability" and maybe a challenge thrown at me every now and again....are you interested in being my Clutter Buddy?
Now that my Big Kids are back in school I really want to get going on my house....and I know I can use Family Corner as my "break time".....
Oh great, someone to kick me in my fanny when I need it!!!
I would be tickled pink to be your "clutter buddy" and you can be mine!!!
I actually accomplished something this morning. I was feeling pretty good, no leg or back pain...so I cleaned our bathroom and swept and mopped the floor. I am still feeling pretty good. I am following hubbys and doctors orders though, and not doing too much at one time.
Let me explain a little....Hubby changed jobs and until his new insurance kicks, next month, I cannot see my regular ortho dr. till then. So, my family dr., the neurosurgeon who did my surgery on my arm suggested I just take it easy on the heavy chores and do what I could, then do a light chore. IE: sit and file recipes, sort clothing for goodwill....that sort of stuff. So, till the leg and back situation is cleared up that is what I have been doing.
I have really let my house go and I cannot stand looking at it any longer. I had dust bunnies in the tub!!!! I am so ashamed to admit that. I love baths but I cannot climb in and out of this tub we have at the moment. (I swear the guy who built this house we are renting was NOT married!!! He could not possibly have had a woman's input in the design of the kitchen or the bathrooms!!!)
I would love this. It really certainly help me out I know. This way we at least have a support system in place for each other. Let me know how ya want to do it and we can work out a plan or whatever. I'm game for anything at this point!!!! If it will help me get things organized in my life and get this house organized,
I am limited by my 2 1/2 year old bundle of fun and energy! So I do pretty well on the quickie jobs, and the everyday laundry, meals and kitchen cleanup, but getting the bigger stuff done is a challenge. I also have 2 older children ages 12 and 8, and one husband with a full-time job and a full-time graduate courseload.
This morning I did manage to go through Luke's drawers & closet while he was playing in his room. He felt like I was playing too, and I had the chance to take out the stuff that doesn't fit.
The biggest problem is, when my little guy is playing by himself, I'd much rather visit here or read the paper than go mop a floor....he does wear me out and I like the quiet break.
Hey, visit my journal, see what I want to get done, and kick me off of here!
I got this idea from Barbszy's journal and I am going to incorporate into my own.

OOPS
For myself only:
Organize magazines, cookbooks, recipes, catalogs, into one compact section where I can get to what I need without going on a hunting spree for it.
Starting Monday 09/13/04 I am going to begin in our bedroom tackling the closet first.
I have a dr. appt. at 10:15 and hopefully? I will be in and out and be able to get home and begin on this. Even if I, heavens I hope not!, have to sit an hour or so at the drs. I am going to come home and begin in the closet.
My goal is to organize, clean out, and straighten it up! It may take Monday and Tuesday to do this, but I want it done by no later than Tuesday pm.
Now if I can only manage not to get side tracked along the way!!!
