Grandmother from Michigan

My son Nathan and his girlfriend Stephanie, her son Robert , and their daughter Cher'ri live with me. I don't get much quite time. Thats ok. I enjoy having them with me. I have a total of 5 granndchildren and 1 almost step-grandson. I consider him mine too. My daughter Candace lives about five miles from me and she has four children from the ages of 2 to 10 years old. Our premie Cher'ri was born last september weighing 3lbs. She is now a big 10 pds. I hope to meet other Grandparents and find out what their challenges are with their grandchildren and if their are others out there who live with theirs. I think I read a post that someone did live with their grandchildren.

Hi Cherri, just saw your post, you may have seen one of mine-although many of us have grandchildren living with us for one reason or another. I'm in NCf, transplanted from FL.
My dd and sil, Danielle and Michael live with my dh and me, along with their two girls, our dgd's, Autumn and Gabby.. It's kind of funny that your Cher'ri was a preemie-our Gabby was a preemie-9 1/2 years ago, 1.5 lbs, 12 in. long-she was our live Barbie Doll. She was in NICU for 3 months before she came home on her due date of Thanksgiving-actually the day after.
How's Cher'ri doing?? Don't be overly concerned if she seems delayed doing some things-you have to remember how early she was born and subtract that from her actual age. How early was she?? Gabby was 3 months early or born at 27-28 weeks gestation.
Danielle is my oldest dd, then Arika-she has 3 boys (had 4, but her first one died at 2 days old-seemingly no problems at first), then comes Lindsay-she has two girls, she just had her second on January 23rd so we have a new baby in the family and the last one until the great's start coming which hopefully won't start for at least 5+ years.
Are you new to FC?? If so, Welcome I know you'll enjoy it here.. we also have a few ladies on FB so we stay updated on two fronts.
Take care, PM me if you'd like or friend me on FB-Pam Sullivan Richards; otherwise I'll see you on FC-join us at What's for Dinner and What is the Weather Like where you are??

Hi Cherri I also just saw your post.
Welcome to FC as Pam said lots of
grandmoms on here. I have 6 grands
and 3 greats as well as several grands
that I have "adopted". My youngest
grandson Steven lives across the street
but he is over here lots. That is he & I
on my Avatar pix. He was 9 then now
13. Older 2 are in Iowa and that is where
2 of my greats are. Steven's older bro is
in Michigan and my last great is his. My
youngest 2 grands are in Maryland. Take
care and hope to see you on some of the
other threads. Oh I am Patti and also on
Facebook under Patti Salyer Valentine
Gellner. Was a Valentine from mid '55
till July of 87. Lots of teasing on Valentine's
Day

Thanks for sharing about your Grandchildren. it is nice to know that there are other grandparents out there. My Grandchildren had a great Valentines day. I found some good deals at Walgreens for their presents. It was nice being able to use coupons for their gifts. Have a great day.

Good to see you Cherri! I'm not a grandma, have two sons, one married and one divorced twice from the same girl. My DH and I live in the woods; he has medical problems from an accident in 2000 so he can't be left alone so we just try and enjoy each day. Hope to see you on other threads here on FC. Feel free to ask any questions if you have any!
