So far this summer has been the coolest and wettest summer we have had in years. I am happy for less humidity but wish the rain would go away ...we have had some local roads wash out from all the rain and storms.
I am always happy when August gets here as it means a long weekend....The 1st weekend is always a holiday...a civic holiday but I take it off. I have more holiday time coming this month.....we go see Rayn in the sunset parade and then anouther weekend we will go his grad from cadet camp and then bring him home. I will have a week off with my whole family home..I am so excited!!! Then it is only 1 week till school starts and back into fall routines.
So any special plans for this month????
Hugs debbie

DebK, I am glad you have holidays and time off this month.
We have several birthdays this month. My SIL, my DGD, my sister, and myself. We are having a party for my DGD in less than 2 weeks. Next weekend, she has her first slumber party. Therefore, DGS and I will be having our own little slumber party. DGS gets tested to restart speech therapy and both children start preschool and first grade. I am going to try to squeese in at least in at least a weekend trip to OK to see DH and where he lives. He's been wanting to show it off. So, I have a roadtrip to plan. We have a busy month!
We have a busy August. Like every month LOL!!! We have alot of birthdays this month. DS #1 will be 27 on the 8th. DS #2 will be 21 on the 5th. Both my dad and my fil birthdays are this month. DD #1 will start College on the 25th. So we are busy getting her ready for this new advanture in her life. DD #2 starts a full schedule of cross country practice and meets. She starts the 11th grade on August 31st.
I am not old enought to have a son that is turning 27!!! LOL!

I do not have any plans for August. Just waiting on that new little baby to show. I guess he'll be the first August baby in my family, we haven't had one birthday in August going as far back as my grandparents!

Felicia, we have no June birthdays that I've been able to trace. We have a couple all in the same week in August, Miriam the 7th, my nephew Nick the 9th, and dh's niece Katlyn the 11th.
And September is loaded with birthdays.
Do we still have a thread for the stories using the smilies? I was just thinking about the one I did I think last summer.

Charlotte your ds birthday is the same as mine...the 8th...lol...other than my birthday this month not much going on around here...
Well finally made it home from Thunder Bay...what a trip it was...got caught in a bad storm just out of Kakabeka Falls...Glen had to pull off the highway because we couldn't see the vehicles or the highway because of the rain...then problems with the truck and Glen had to replace 2 parts for the brakes...then crappy news from the doctor...someone almost hit our truck...not a good trip at all...
Just happy to be home...
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend...
Smiles & hugs...

I went to my Dollar Tree interview, no idea if I got the job. The manager called several people for an interview so I 'll keep on looking for a job for now and if I get lucky then maybe he'll call and offer me a position. OKAY, as I typed this.........LOL the manager just called, I got the job! LOL
I'm off to fill out paper work.

This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
Members will be allowed to submit one story pertaining to a Halloween story and one story pertaining to an autumn story. Please click here to enter!
