Barb, thanks for the heads-up about Lauri, I didn't know! She is in my prayers!

About your email, why not just use bar_bar@ (whatever your provider is)? Bet that wouldn't be taken already!

Barb thanks for understanding what I meant to Train. I will copy and paste things like that so it is understood better.

Dh and I went to Millersville University today for Parent Orientation for DD #1. It was the 1st time dh saw the school. We both had a nice day. DD #1 has about a month till she leaves for college. She will only be about 1 1/2 hrs away so not real far.

We have friends that came in for the weekend to visit. We spent the evening with them last night. Today they went to a family picnic. They will head home tomorrow.

DD #1 and her boyfriend ate dinner with dh and I. We spent the dinner talking about college and things like that.

Have a nice evening everyone.

I'm so sorry to hear abour Lauri. Prayers are being said here.

I have read all the posts. I had a lot of them to read.

The cherries have been keeping me busy. We picked 4 ice cream pails Thurs. Fri. afternoon I pitted them all and spread them on cookie sheets and put them in the freezer. I did save a colander full to use now. Today we vacumn packed the frozen cherries and I made 2 batches of jam. Think I have enough left that were not frozen to make a pie or 2.

Train, I love reading your journal. I am having as much fun as you did. Congrats on winning the money. How wonderful.

Sueanne, Buck has never caught any kind of snapper. He was fishing this morning out on the lake with Roland. They each caught a nice salmon.

Sammi, I hope that little boy's mom can find out what is going on with him.

It is a little late and I am tired so I think I will call it a night.

Hi to everyone.

Hi Ellen...Barbszy...Charlotte...Patti and anyone else I missed...sorry...

Glen heads out to Thunder Bay on Thursday...not sure if I will be going or not...have to check with my doctor if I can travel...alot has been going on around here...spent 3 days in the hospital in Thunder Bay...came home and got a visit from Glen's mother,sister,brother-in-law and brother...we asked them to get off our property but they wouldn't leave so I called the police...the officer lives down the street from us but didn't want to get involved...I lost it and told him to do his job which he didn't...My son came over and I have no idea what he said to them but they finally left...I don't want them here and neither does Glen...too stressful...

Well I think the neighbors have finally turned off their music or at least turned it down...heading off to bed...

Hope everyone has a wonderful day...

I just heard about Lauri on Facebook. I hope she is okay and continues to heal.

BarBar, you could think of something that John was known for and mix that with your name. I bet you will find something really creative for your new email address.

Barb, enjoy your vacation.

Theresa, sorry about the problems with the in-laws. Most police officers that I have met feel that all their neighbors think they should resolve every single problem in the neighborhood. They say that on their days off, they don't want to bother with things or get involved with neighborhood disputes, most are petty. I think you did good to call the police. If the neighborhood police officer got involved, you wouldn't have the documentation that you had to involve the police. I hope you get to feeling better. I know you've had a tough time of it.

Sharon, it's been awhile since I picked cherries. That is so fun. We need to take the GKs, hopefully, next year to the mountains to pick cherries.

We had to call DD yesterday morning as DGD was worry because the morning was getting old and Mommy wasn't there yet. Mommy promised she'd call as soon as she woke up so that we could pick her up. Per request from DGD I called Mommy. DD sounded asleep when I called and she said it would be about an hour, that was at 10:30am. Then, an hour and 40 minutes later she calls and tells me that they have to clean out the storage unit for her friend and wouldn't be long. It was almost noon. I had my laundry half done by then. Once I finish the laundry, I put sunblock on the children and pack them up to go to the nearby town to go to the kiddie swimming pool. DD called about the time I arrive in that town and I inform her where I was. She was upset and asked why I didn't call her and give her a chance to come to the swimming pool with the kids. I let her know that she knew about it and what time I was leaving and where we were going. She said it had only been 20-30 minutes. I informed her the exact times she called according to my cell phone and it had been one hour and 6 minutes. I also told her that it was not my job to make sure she was ready to come with us. The children have a life and she can choose to be in it if she wants to. This is a nightmare. She wanted to come today to see the children at 7pm. I told her I had a race this afternoon and there is no visitation on NASCAR afternoons. When I can talk to her, when the children aren't around, I am going to inform her that I will no longer pick her up for visitations and doctor's appointments. She can meet me in a neutral location and make arrangements to visit her children. This is the reality. She is going to need transportation, even though she states that she does not. Otherwise, these children have to get used to the fact that mommy and daddy aren't doing what they should to get them back. FBSS is going to be officially on the case next week. Once they get involved we'll probably be going to supervised visitation by the state at their agency, on Saturday, for 1 hour. The parents are going to have to adjust, the kids will have to adjust, and I will have to make the drive to the next town for this IF the parents are able to get a ride. Even if they aren't able to get a ride, I will have to show up to demonstrate to the state that I was willing and able.

Last night, I read the children Green Eggs & Ham and this morning they ate green eggs and ham. lol

*I have a questions. DGS urinated in his bed last night. His bed turns into a couch during the day. What is the best way to clean up a uring stain like that? I am ging to Walmart this morning to get him some plastic sheets to put on his bed until he gets better control over this. He pees his pants during the day, drinks alot and sometimes wets the bed. I have noticed a correlation between drinking juice and peeing a lot. The doctor checked his blood sugar and didn't think he has a blood sugar problem. Now, I am wondering if we should be checking it more often or if he just drinks and pees a lot. Anyway, any advice on cleaning a uring puddle/stain off my couch would be appreciated.

DeBora, I don’t think my dc boys bedwetting issue is a new one but it is new for him to do it at nap time. I often wonder if he gets enough sleep at home if he is sleeping so deeply at nap time. I have also given his mom lots of info on adhd and how to deal with it at home as well as what else needs to be done as far as therapy and diagnoses etc. She is definitely going to start looking into it so that’s a start. I am sorry your dd is being so difficult when it comes to seeing her children. Her children will be hurt more if she makes empty promises to come see them but it never seems to work out. I know the tough love route must be very hard for you but you are doing the right thing. Seems like without major consequences, your dd and sil are never going to grow up and take responsibility. As for your dgs’ bedwetting, waterproof pads should help and it may be something he will outgrow but has his pediatrician talked about it at all? And for getting out the stain/smell on upholstery, I use Carbona. It is actually a carpet cleaner but works great on upholstery too. (being a daycare provider, I learn a lot about these things!)

Barbszy, you are so right about my difficult dc boy needing structure at home and I don’t think he gets any. And the worst part is, every time he starts getting out of control, he mom threatens to send him to stay with his dad. His dad should not be used as a threat of punishment! I am not sure how much consistency there is at home either. (the kids are mostly with their mom who is living with her mom)

Sandie, I hope your mom is healing well though it sounds like it is going to take awhile. I don’t envy you having to take care of her alone I have been there and no how hard it can be. Does your area have a Visiting Nurses Association? They can help with bathing, doing her hair, etc. there are other agencies, too, that can provide respite care so you can get out of the house to get some time to yourself. It is good your brother is coming so he can help out a bit.

Felicia, I am definitely going to be using some of my compost in my vegetable garden this fall so get the soil ready for spring. My garden is in terrible shape this year due to all the rain we have had.

Ellen, I have heard of compost tea before. Wonder if it would help my flower gardens.

Donna (train) I would be more than happy to send some rain your way. We are getting another week’s worth and I am so not happy as this time it is coming with heat and humidity! Your journal is fascinating!! I feel like I am on the trip with you. You have a wonderful way with words that is so descriptive.

Bar_bar, your red hat earrings sound so cute! Very cool about finding the perfect gift for John’s best friend. I am glad your dd can come to you when she is having a melt down and it is good you can turn to her as well. Sounds like you will have a good time with your dgc. And you are going to love having dsl on your computer. It is so much faster than dial up. Sounds like you got a great deal. And thank you for the update on Lauri. I will keep her in my prayers.

Donna-Marie, hope you can get all your computer problems straightened out. I always check my email before opening them but from now on will be even more careful because I sure don’t want to get a virus. Are you tired of the rain yet? Seems like we are having more coming our way.

Charlotte, sounds like you and dh had a nice visit at your dd’s college orientation. It also sounds like you had a nice visit with your friends.

Sharon, you are so lucky to have cherries! We have a cherry tree in our yard but they are sour cherries not the sweet ones and this year I didn’t get to them to do anything with them. Very cool Buck caught a nice salmon. I love salmon.

Theresa, I am so glad to hear you are out of the hospital and I hope that you are feeling better. Hope you are able to go to Thunder Bay with Glen. I am so sorry to hear your in-laws are still wrecking havoc. It is good you called the police on them but I am truly sorry they were not much help. You don’t deserve to have to deal with this all the time.

Patti, I hope you are feeling better today. Hope your family all has a good time on their trips.

Yesterday dh and I went to the Canterbury Fair. It is on old time fair with antiques, crafts, animals, blacksmithing, the Morris Dancers, food, a book sale etc. I did good and only bought two books (50 cents apiece) but dh bought several. We had a good time. Today we are cleaning the house and taking care of clutter. It is finally sunny out but very hot and humid with thunder showers on the way for this afternoon. More rain off and on all week. I am going to try to post some pictures of our vacation in my FC photo album. One will be of our dock which was totally under water when we arrived. By the end of our vacation we were able to use about 1/3 of it. I am hoping we can get back to the island for a weekend soon. Next weekend is dh’s 30th high school reunion. We will be going to that. Not sure when mine will be but hopefully at the end of summer. Time to get back to work. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Thanks Sammi yes I am feeling some better.
Kent's trip is work related. Bless him he has to go all over the place. He has been to Germany too related to work. Adam is going with his friend Matt (from work) to Roanoke area that is near my older son so am hoping they can get together or at least yak at each other via phone. Steven's trip is camping too with the Boy Scouts. I will miss Adam but not his music love him dearly but not his music. Steven thank heavens is not into that type yet. He wants me to get Now 31 for him so will hunt for it and that will be part of his b'day which is Sept 28th.
Too hot for me to sit on porch so will have to be content with inside.

DeBora I was thinking a drop of Mr.Clean or pinesol would take out the smell but may not be good around kids...Sammi's idea of using Carbona is great...I would try that...

DeBora how do you make green eggs...sorry but I have to ask...my son's kids would love that, having green eggs and ham...

Patti sounds like your guys are very busy...how's your hip...hope you are doing well...

Hey Sharon I got to pick Raspberries this morning...a total of 5... that was it...lol

Lauri you are in my prayers daily...missing you...

Sammi I don't think my in-laws or out-laws(lol) will ever learn that they are not welcome here...this is years of abuse at their hands and I am done with all of them...All their negativity is not good for me...Glen agrees that his family does more harm than good...and his mother's excuse for everything she has done is "I was just trying to help"...but I don't want her help...

I think I might need a nap today...lol...didn't go to bed until 4 this morning...going to be a long day...have lots to do but I really don't want to do anything...my lazy day...

Hope everyone has a wonderful day...

Smiles & Hugs...
