Okay, so I don't feel as bad about having technical issues this time.....
even Amanda was a little baffled on this one!!!
But, thanks to Amanda's help, the thread is now up and ready for posting.
We are up extra early this morning. I have been getting the two DS up between 6:30 and 7:00 all week since they start school tomorrow. Last week I had them up by 8:00. I decided to get them up at school time this morning to make sure they are ready to go to bed at their school bedtime tonight since that has been a problem since we started making sure we were up early.
I have had all the two DS school supplies that was on their lists for over a month but it's all still in the Wal-Mart bags. I need to get all of it sorted out and into the correct book bag. I am sure the boys will come home tomorrow with yet more supplies needed that didn't make the list!
Can you believe that DS # 2, who will be in 6th grade has Glade Plug-Ins on his list?! All girls are supposed to bring in two plug-ins and the boys are to bring in a large container of Clorox wipes. I talked with DS' doctor about it and she doesn't like the plug-ins because it can trigger his asthma so I am going to have to talk to his teacher about that once I find out who it will be.
Well, the two DS are asking for breakfast so I better get that going.
Abear, I just have to ask. Why does a child need plug-ins for school supplies?
I've still quite a few supplies to get myself. I have never been so underprepared for school in my life. I am normally such a planner that I have my supplies a least a month before school starts.
Abear, I cannot believe that the school would allow plug ins. They are so bad for anyone who has asthma or allergies.
If we know this, you would think the school knows this and would have addressed this issue already. I just wonder if the principal even knew/realized that plug ins were put on the supply list.

I'd like to know the same thing!!! I have tried a couple of times to reach the principal since he and the school secretary went back to work two weeks ago but he has been in meetings, workshops, etc... The two times that he did try to return my calls, I wasn't home when he called .....once we were getting allergy shots and the last time was when I had taken my FIL to his appt. with his pulmonologist.
I'll get a letter from the two DS primary care doctor AND their asthma specialist and go to the school board if I have to!! My two DS have enough trouble with their asthma without the school doing something deliberate that can flare up/trigger their asthma!
I may end up being the least liked parent with the school staff this year. I have not held that title since DS # 1 was in Kindergarten (he will be in 8th grade this year). Oh well, I don't care! My children's welfare comes first!

Abear, that is just NUTS! Plug-ins on the list. I know what those things can do to asthmatics, as I have had to beg people to unplug them when I am visiting. Sure, just send a kid to school to sit in a room full of his trigger for 6 hours a day
Sounds like eveyone is getting ready for school. My kids started this past Wednesday. The kids are having fun, so far. Ds has had football practice all week. He slept all day Saturday. LOL
Hd had to work yesterday and dd had a Girl Scout event. They went rock climbing, she had a wonderful time. I have been taking it easy. I think I have finally caught up on my sleep. The little guy, after 4 years, is finally sleeping thru the night. I still wake up in the middle of the night thinking that he is waking me up.
This coming Friday I get to met the little guys Mother's day out teacher. I have heard so many wonderful things about her. He starts school on the 23rd, he will be going for 4 days. 2 long days and 2 short days. I don't know what I am going to be doing with all my time.
Abear--last year on my oldest's school supply list they asked for dry erase marks, red, black and blue. I had the hardest time finding them, had to go all over town looking for the blue ones. Found out later ds did not even use any of them, they were for the teacher. I don't mind donating for the teacher when asked, but I have a problem when it is required. I knew people last year that could barely buy new supplies for thier kids let alone the teacher.

I've had a couple teachers send home notes asking for donations of chalk or dry erase markers but the only time they were ever put on a list for either of the two DS was for 1st grade...and each child had to have a 8x11 dry erase board too.
Both DS also had Kleenex and paper towels on their lists! (that's an every year thing!)
When the two DS were at the primary school, they also had ziploc bags on their lists. Students with the last name starting with A-H would bring gallon size and the rest would bring quart size. The teachers would then ask for donations of the sandwich size. They also had liquid soap on their lists at the primary school along with a package of copy paper for the teacher to use to copy tests, etc.. for the class.
Now, at the middle school, I always find out what teacher my boys have when they go to lunch. If that teacher does not have soap for their classroom sinks (the school doesn't provide soap except for the restrooms), then I always donate some so that I know that my boys are washing their hands with soap before they go handle their food! Of course, I have to donate enough for the entire class but to me it is worth it.
I can remember when all that my parents had to buy my sisters and I were the general stuff like crayons, pencils, paper, etc....
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
