Hi Donna, I got your letter and pix, (I think it was yest) Im so forgetful lately. Glad you got your "puter' fixed, I have a card already to mail out to you tomorrow, and you'll probably "crack up" when you see how I put my picture, lol! 105 degrees,!! I couldnt take it,Im serious, I hate it here when its 90 and up, and Deb K, what is +40, is that like our 90???I guess its not just me that was saying the pages here are loading very slow, I got a pm from Abear, and she said it, and was gonna tell Amanda and I just noticed Debora, and someone else said it.
DH just went next door to find out how our neighbor is, he was riding a bicycle and somehow lost his balance and hit a tree, and a stop sign, and got so badly hurt they had to trans fer him to a hosp in Boston, and are doing brain surgery on him in the morning, and he lost an eye and broke his neck, all this on a bike, I thought at first it was a motorcycle, but it wasnt.Im on my way over also to see if his wife needs anything, because her kids arent always around for her,(shes in her 60's) and is the nicest lady and has such terrible children.
Have fun sitting in your "spa" Donna, maybe you should sleep there withthat heat!!

Sandie, what a horrible thing to have happen to your neighbor You can get a lot more hurt on a bike than most people think! My father used to ride to work in traffic, and has had many close calls and several injuries. He's even hit his head on a metal guard rail....ouch...the helmet saved him that time for sure. Your neighbor's wife is lucky to have friends like you
Train, it's good to hear from you and I'm glad the new job is going well!
Carol Ann it great to see you posting back here with us
How is things going for you and your mom?
Donna, it great to see you back with us, and that the job is going well. of course anytime you have pictures I would love to have you send them to me too.
Abear, thanks for the star pot, I didn't get a chance to see how the other one turned out, but did hear it was pretty.
Thamk goodness today was a little bit cooler.
this morning John had a dr appointment to check his cholesterol and it was level and where it should be... this was the 2nd time it was level since he been taking this meds. last time, the doctor was please and told him to come back in 3 wks which was today... now we can wait for a month before going back to see her.
Does anyone know how to disciple a child that is stubborn about not being truthful?
I've tried about everything I can think of,
time out
spanking
taking toy away, even her snack which she loves food
not able to go outside to play
extra chores
no tv
bed early
still she will lie... HELP please. I don't want her to be like her mommy and this is beginning to wear on my nerves. any suggestions would be appreciated.
Fpr those would like to see what my oldest gd looked like with long hair before it was cut go to the photo thread,
see ya later.

Barb, this is a tough one....and the child is still a little one (she's only 5, right?) Kids that age have a tough time telling a lie from the truth. Sometimes they lie to get out of trouble, and other times they lie because they are living in a fantasy world and tell what they WISH things were instead of how they really are.
If she's lying to get out of trouble for something, she may need to see that she will get punished twice. Once for what she did wrong and once for lying. BUT she should also know that if she does wrong, and tells the truth, that you'll go (a little) easier on her. She needs to learn at this point that she CAN tell the truth and you'll still love her.
I'm sure she is still struggling with the whole thing with her mom. Her life has been very unstable. She is here, there, she does not know from one day to the next what to expect--and she is developing her own little survival skill to protect herself. She NEEDS stability and love and consistency. She gets it with you, and then Mom takes it away. How hard must that be, when you are 5?
YIPPEEE Train found her way back...I am soo soo glad you got your puter up and running. I got your pictuer the other day and it was soo beautiful, and I loved the stamp to with your pict on it.
I love the star pot totally awesome.
I have a great place for all my friends here at FC to go to... this is such a beautiful page and I hope you all feel the same way...

Hello
Hi, everyone.
Donna, thanks for the picture and card ! Made my day. I am glad to hear you are doing well with your new job training. That is hot ! Sorry to hear about your cooler and fridge. Can you get the fridge repaired or do you have to get a new one? Nice to see you be able to post.
Barbar, that is so hard, as Barbszy said, to be tossed back and forth, and then have the example of her mom lying. I am sure it is a symptom of what is going on in her life. Too much for a little girl to have to handle. I am sorry you are dealing with her on this. I will pray that God will show you what will work with her.
Sandie, that is really tragic about your neighbor. I have a friend in GA that has a 18 yo son that recently had a bike accident, too. He broke his jaws and has his mouth wired shut.
I hope your neighbor will get the help he needs and that the surgery will be succesful.
That is kind of you to look after his wife. I know she must be really shaken up. She will truly appreciate your kindness.
