Houston where I grew up!!!
I used to spend numerous hours "hanging out at the Galleria" skating, eating pizza and getting in alot of trouble with security BUT [b] I have matured since those years![b] LOL
I loved Herman park and the park zoo....Fun City was another teen hangout. Now I think I would enjoy the zoo, Galveston, the taco shops, showing my kids where I grew up and attended school, showing them where Maggy was born, the dome (which Abear told me is not used much any more ), the Astro arena, Astroworld, and wow... so many other places. Oh the skyline at night is breath taking
Baltimore's Inner harbor is great too. Have great memories of a school field trip with Maggy.
Washington DC has great places. My kids ALL want to return to the Holocoust museum now that they are older. The monuments are great, PLANET HOLLYWOOD ( what can I say we splurged) , and alot of other places. We have gone a couple times but I want to go back. We have gone into the FBI building, FORD theater, the WHITE HOUSE and visited the monuments. I want to go back and take the kids to the mint and other different places.
Two places I REALLY REALLY want to go are...
New York City... to Ellis Island and imagine what early America was like and
back to Philadelphia to see it in a whole new way. After reading quite a few historical fiction books I want to go exploring our rich heritage

Oh Morelia, I TOO have wanted to go to NYC for years!! Go to the Local and Regional forum then click on New York!! There is an awesome thread there about places to visit in the city!!!
I too would have trouble just picking one place of the cities I have been to but I guess I would say San Fransisco!! I love the Fishermans Wharf, Golden Gate Park, North beach, Chinatown, Lombard Ave and riding the cable cars! It's such a pretty city on a hill with all it's colorful Victorian row houses and just a fun place to spend the day and people watch. (one of my favorite "lazy pastimes!!)
Close seconds...........Seattle and Dallas....Oh, and Boston and Savannah.

One of my favorite places to visit is St. Augustine, Florida--It is just so much fun there--Lots of history, shops, restaurants, etc. My hubby and I stayed in a B&B there last December. We visited Flagler College while we were there and told our son about it (he will be in his second year at Florida Atlantic University this year)--so we went to visit again this summer and he fell in love with it--He is in the process of trying to transfer there next fall--

I ,too, love San Francisco the most-One year we shared a townhouse timeshare with family on Nob Hill. I loved the Ghiradelli store, the cable cars, etc. San Francisco is within driving distance of wine country, Muir Woods, Carmel and Yosemite. I love Yosemite and we stayed at an old Victorian hotel called the Wawona in the park. It was the most restful place I've ever stayed. Then we headed back to San Francisco for lots of shopping and sightseeing.

I personally love the Dallas-Ft.Worth area. I moved here only a few short years ago from the Mid-west. The DFW area not only offers a classy, chic type of "down-to-earth," cozy sort of atmosphere but the region also offers a diverse cultural richness with a unique twist of sophistication amongst all the hullabaloo and excitement like most other great Texas towns such as Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.
A close second is the NYC area with their mighty skyscrapers and fabulous shopping boutiques, then there is the excitment of Las Vegas (fastest growing city in the U.S.A.) and oh yes.....let's not forget the beauty and tranquility of Atlantic City!
Boy, did I have some great times on the Boardwalk. Also, there is a really charming area nearby called Egg Harbor (lol....yes, that's right) that has such a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Seattle is also a remarkably beautiful town but there is only so much rain pour I can take....lol
The New England states specifically Maine and New Hampshire offer an undescribable beauty in the Fall with all the splendid colours and so much natural beauty. I love to visit this part of the country between the months of September and November.....awesome!

I absolutely love Boston. The city is so fun and so full of history. There is always something going on and something to do. I love to walk everywhere but when I get tired I can just hop on the T. My kids love the Boston Aquarium and the Museum of Science and Faneuil Hall. I went to college in this city years ago just because I wanted to live there and I still try to visit every year at least once.
My favorites are: St Louis - Union Station & the Riverfront (arch),
or Memphis - Mud Island.
Both cities were enjoyable and had facinating sites.
I enjoyed the quisine at Union Station, the arch was different and interesting.
Mud Island has a topical model of the Mississippi River (with river water) running right through the middle of the island. It also has a museum and resturant.
Chicago's Navy Pier also - we always go to Nick's Last Resort (not for the faint-hearted or kids)
It might seem a little out of the way, but my favorite city in the whole world is Denver, Colorado. It has the perfect weather . . .something like 300 sunny days out of the year, the coolest, laid-back people, and plenty of fun things to do.
There's a great mixture of outdoors, cultural events, good restaurants and fun people that make the city the best!
Anyway, hope everyone gets a chance at some point to check it out for themselves!
