Daisy lady, my mom raised 4 kids on below poverty level, hang in there, she went to church every morning and many times I saw tears in her eyes, rely on God to lift you up.

Also check with the school district for reduced meals with the federal funds they get. That might help if you don't do it already.

Daisylady,
I am so sorry, I still can't believe what you get for child support. I live in NC and my brother in law pays 2,000 monthly and his ex has custody, but she don't work, says it is to expensive for day care. I wish she only knewback in 1986 when I left my husband and he was making $22.50/hr and I only received $ 250.00, I did go back and had a review 8 years later and I then started receiving $350.00. I only wish the different states would get there act together, they are finally working on dead beat dads, but unfortuely women like you are left in the dust.

Daisy just checking in with how things are for you.
Does your ex not work or work at a low pay job, that the only reason I can see why the child support is so low. Or either he was not working maybe when you and him file for custody.

I know I help raise my grandkids and I do not get any kind of help from thier mother.. She keeps the child support for one of them, and the other child dad doesn't pay any at all.
I know it not easy, and it hard to do it.
With the kids been teens get them to pinch in and help. It will not hurt them, I know you may not like it but kids way back in times helped thier parents and may are doing it now.
have you tried to file for food stamp or help with housing.

wishing you the best..
