update on dd

All the tests are in. Everything is normal except her inflamation. Now we see a neurologist. There is one about three hours away.... I will try to find one closer. Maybe she has out of town clinics? I will pick up samples of meds for JRA tomorrow. Even though Jazz tested negitive we will try meds for the inflamation. She almost fell again this morning! We will also start PT and see if that helps.

How is your DD doing after starting the meds and the PT?

She is doing better with PT. She has land and water PT every week. Tuesday they displaced her kneecap to massage under it. She has been sore since then. I found a doctor and will be calling him tomorrow. The Bextra is helping with the pain.

She just took grandpa's dogs for a walk. First time in months!

My dad is in surgery right now. They are checking on his cancer. I am going nuts waiting for a phone call......

Connie...

I'm just noticing.. Has your dd been diagnosed with JRA? Both my dd's have also.

They are 9 and 14 y/o. How old is your dd? Both my girls are maintained on naproxyn, ( Aleve) and do PT and see the rhumatologist every other month. They're noth doing very well ( Thank G-d) and only the o0lder one has any chronic limitation. The younger one gets occasional flares...

DD will be 14 this month. She has tested negitive to both ostio and RA. We saw a ped rhumatologist in june. He brushed us off. My cousin sees a rhumatologist and loves the one she sees. I will call him today. The one thing they haven't check is for fibro. I still say it is arthritis. She takes Bextra for the pain. Somedays up to 40mg. We need to see another doctor! We have seen three peds and they all say arthriits.

Both my dd blood work is "negative" but the peds rheumatologost has still diagnosed them with spondaloarpathies..

You don't NEED serum markers to make a positive diagnosis.. clinical symptoms are what makes the "yea or nay"..

Younger dd also has fibro..

I take Bextra.. I am pretty sure that 20mg per day is the maximum recommended dosage.. Check with your doctor... and you need to follow that drug with periodic blood work.

Has your dd had any CT scans? mri's? x-rays? ... What kind of pain does she have?

I have a short thread going in the children's health forum if you ever want to chat.. http://www.familycorner.com/forums/s...&threadid=7662 or please feel free to PM or e-mail me.
