I was searching for an answer to a household cleaning question and stumbled on this site. After looking about, I joined.
I was interested in TrainLady's post in 2003 concerning a "sticky" wood finish on her furniture and asking if Murphy's Oil Soap was any good. Noone...not a single person...replied. Her question is the one for which I seek an answer.
Sure hope that someone helps TrainLady and me out.
ABOUT ME: I'm a 58 year old wife, mother of two and grandmother of two. DH and I have been married 40 years this past July. Don't know where the time has gone, but it's been an incredible adventure and I look forward to the next 40 years with "my man". We purchased a 36 ft. Fleetwood Bounder in 2002 and enjoy RVing when we can get away. Of course, our family is more important than anything else
and we've cut short/ postponed/cancelled more than one RV trip to be where we're most needed. I'm looking forward to "meeting you". See you in the Forums.
Not sure of the answer to your question...I use murphys on my wood floors and some wood furniture. Most anything I have had that was sticky was because the finish was going so I had to sand it down and re varnish or strip and refinish the whole piece. Hopefully someone has a bettter answer for you!
Welcome to Family Corner!! Nice to meet you!! This is a really interesting place. Glad you came to join us!!If you need any help finding your way around just ask, someone is always willing to help out. I live in Ontario Canada and have 3 kids.I run a home daycare from my home. This is my favorite place to just hang out. There are so many wonderful ladies and a few men to meet and forge wonderful friendships with. And just a click away you will find a wealth of information on just about any topic. So grab a cup of or , pull up a chair and have some fun. Just one word of caution though....this site has a tendency to become very addictive!!!
Kathy, welcome to FC. Trainlady is on a trip, but as soon as she comes back, I am sure you will love her as much as we do!
Sunlver, I wanted 4 childeren, until I met reality. I admire you.
I have 2 grown children and 2 grandchildren. I have wanted to go to college since I was little. As soon as my kids were grown and on their own, I went to college. I am hoping to get my BA in Psychology with a minor in forensics in May. Then it will be on to graduate school. So, enjoy life and enjoy what dreams God allows you to achieve!
I look forward to getting to know you both on the threads. Jump in anytime and anywhere!

I'm not sure exactly where the question was about the furniture finish. If you make another post in that spot, it will "bump up" the question, and maybe some one will know the answer! Good luck!

Hi all, I do not know if I have done this correctly, I am not all that computer savy. I do like to use the computer so here goes. First I want to introduce myself. I am a "Nan" to a seven year old boy named Jimmy we are helping to raise him as mom was abusive and son Shane came home with him. which made us very happy. "Grumps" (my husband) is a retired postal carrier, and I still work as a teacher assistant in the special education self-contained class at the middle school here in Middletown. I have been doing the job for 22 years and I love it. I love those little fun smile things over there as you can see. I also love to quilt, I just finished piecing a Halloween quilt that I have to hand quilt now. I also love to knit, what I love to knit most are socks on four needles. I crochet only a little and am not very good at it. I also do a little crosstitch and some other general crafts. I keep very busy. Jimmy loves to help. I also make little pins for all of the holidays and bring them in to work and leave them in the office so all can take. They can't say they can't get nothing for nothing. Well that basically is it. Have a happy day. Jodi
Jodi, welcome to Family Corner! You won't find a better bunch of people anywhere. I look forward to getting to know you and sharing ideas with you! Computers are a wonderful thing, but they aren't always easy to understand! lol
This time, the theme is going to be autumn/Halloween so your stories need to use smilies to express as many words as possible and your story should be focused on anything that has to do with autumn or Halloween.
