Welcome to FC

Hope you will enjoy your time with us and stop in often. Always something new and exciting going on here.

Looks like we have something in common... your signature line says you make or sell gourment bakery candles. I make candles but haven't ventured into making food type candles yet. There was a lady in our mall next to us that did and she had the most awesome line, I especially loved her pecan pie with the little pecans on top. So innovative!

Pamela~ Im not familiar with Blackwell. Im actually in Broken Arrow too..I love where we are, its got that smalltown feel to it then Tulsa is just right there with lots of shopping Its funny because we were lived in Wyoming for 3 yrs before moving back here and we met SOO many okies there too trying to get away from the humidity too. I do miss the Wyoming summers. Its so great to meet you!!

Hi BarBar~ thank you so much for the welcome! Tulsa seems to be a popular place. I really dont know much of anywhere else other than Oklahoma, its definitely home for us. Great to meet you too!!

Feel free to stop over in our crafts section. We have a section on soap and candlemaking there and from time to time I post new ideas or discoveries in that area. Been looking at a old 1974 magazine I found this weekend today that has some neat candle making ideas that I don't see on the market and a special wick I've never heard of that sounds great will have to check with my candle making groups and find out what happened to it. It's called Key-Wick no strings attached. Probably lead based or something that harmed the environment.

OSI- thank you for your kind words of Breezy. Having her in my life for 28 years was truely a blessing. She will always be an inspiration to me. She was so positive throughout her illness, even to the very end. I miss her so much, but I am glad she no longer has to spend her every minute fighting so hard and wondering what was to come next. I am sure she is looking down on us now smiling. I enjoy FC a lot. Many people here remind me of her and that is a comfort.

I noticed your avatar is a German Shepard (?) Do you have one? I love them, they are such pretty dogs. I almost purchased one myself but in the end, a rescued rottweiler stole my heart. His name is Zues and he had a very bad start to life (his previous owner spend time in jail for animal cruelity) but he is living the high life now! I hope to someday own a German Shepard. They are very smart and loyal. Do they do well with kids? A little worried about my neice and nephew for I have heard they are prone to fear bitting but I never researched that idea.

Frugal was Breezy's middle name!! I will never forget going shopping with her on black fridays, she was like a kid in a candy store. We would always leave the house at 5am and I swear she never slept the night before! she would lay awake all night planning out what stores to go to at what time depending on what was cheapest where! On regular shopping trips we would go to at least 5 different stores comparing prices on just one small item. The price difference would be a few cents but she still felt she had to "shop around". I think those are the things that made me love her the most. She enjoyed just being able to do things like that. You could take her into an auto parts store and she would come out with a big grin bragging about the bargin she got And don't get me started on garage sales! No joke, my father and I used to hit the gas pedal when we saw a garage sale sign when mom was in the car! Otherwise we would be there for at least an hour. I don't know how she managed to avoid tearing every muscle in her neck from rubbernecking so much!!! But I did spend my fair share of time at flea markets and garage sales with her. Those are the memories that will last a lifetime.

Yes, I have an Akita/German Shephard mix. We got her at a animal shelter, someone had dumped her in the country hoping a farmer would take her in I think. She had a sister but someone got her before we came. She has a very good disposition and is "my" dog.. she stays with me till I go to bed. If I nap, she goes with me. Where I am she is. We've had her about 6 years now along with 2 other dogs. You can read more about them in the Pets section under Dogs along with their pictures. I don't know how she would do around children as we don't have any nor do we allow anyone to pet our dogs. Our feelings are they are to protect our home and if they think everyone is their friend, they may be vulnerable if someone broke in while we weren't home. I do let one of our friends little girl pet them occassionally but she is very experienced with dogs having 6 of her own and Katie (our dog) seems to be o.k. with that.

Missy, Blackwell is in Kay county about 10 mins from Ponca City, it is North Central Ok. My aunt has lived in Broken Arrow for about 7 years now her name is Mary Hurst. They live on a small acreage just outside of town. Haven't missed Ok too much this winter as wet as we have been here this year and they say we are getting more rain tomorrow for 7 days. We will probobly have lots of floods again all over the state.
