Hello from France !

Hi everybody. I'm a French woman aged 39. My husband and I live in a city of about 77 000 inhabitants next to Paris. We have no children for the moment but we do have a darling female cat named Pitoune (pronounce "Peetoon") whom we love dearly, even if she sometimes make us go out of our mind ! I will post some pictures of her later on .

I found this board by surfing around through an engine search and it really looks nice so here I am !

I have many interests. I specially love animals (and mostly cats and rodents), surfing the web, exchanging ideas about everything, travelling, going to the restaurant, horror movies, smileys, crosswords, beaches, and one of my favorite countries are the USA (I grew up in Manhattan).

I will stop here for this first time, I don't want to make it too long. I really hope to hear from many of you ! Bye.

Hello from England!

Hello Cybermoukette!

Welcome to this forum! I love your username. I think you will really like this forum. Everyone is very friendly. I'm new here but I am addicted to it!

I'm American, aged 48. I'm married to a Brit and have been living in England for 15 years. We have two sons, aged 13 and 10. We don't have any pets although I love animals.

You mentioned that you grew up in Manhattan. How old were you when you moved to France?

I also love surfing the web, travelling, going to restaurants, and movies although I prefer romantic comedies. I haven't been to France yet although hopefully we will in the near future. My older son is learning French at school.

Have you looked at the international forum on FamilyCorner yet? It's a new feature and really great! You might want to consider posting there. It's just a friendly suggestion.

Bye for now.
Maureen

Hi Postey,

Not boring at all. I envy you. Although I'm usually quite happy with my life here, I still miss living in America. I still get homesick.

I look forward to "chatting" with you.

Maureen

I have been to England. I bet it would neat to live there. I have a work associate that lived in Scotland for about 20 years and absolutely adored it.

Hi Mom to three,

How long ago did you visit England and how long was your visit? What parts of the country did you see? What were your first impressions? Was it what you expected?

As I said, I'm usually happy here. I have a lot of friends (all British) and I enjoy the peaceful way of life. We live in a small town about an hour from London by train. As you know, it's a small country but there is a lot packed into this island. There is history everywhere you look.

I love the customs and the British sense of humor. I also enjoy the beautiful countryside and the pubs and tea shops.

Tell me about your visit to England and about your life in America.

bye for now.
Maureen

Well, let me think...that was 18 years ago ! I remember going to several places in London and we also went out to Stonehenge. We watched Romeo and Juliet at a Shakespeare theater in Stratford- Upon-Avon.

Hi Mom to Three,

I think it's time for another visit. LOL. It was quite a while ago. How long was your visit? It sounds like you had time to see a fair bit.

Can you recall if you were able to walk up close at Stonehenge? I remember the first time I visited there, that was the case. Now, it's more tightly controlled and the access is very restricted. It's possible to view it of course but not up close. Apparently, there were too many people trying to take bits for souveniers and damaging the actual stones. It's a shame really but perfectly understandable.

Stratford-upon-Avon is one of my favorite towns to visit! The Royal Shakespeare Theatre is wonderful, isn't it? It's incredible to actually see a Shakespeare production in the town where he was actually born and grew up in.

My trip to Europe was with a high school group. We spent a month touring several countries. We did get to go close up to Stonehenge.

I remember loving France. The main street there, let's see, the Champs Elieson is it?, was so neat. And that traffic circle that went around there. We went to the Eiffel Tower too. I wish we could have gotten more authentic meals there. I don't remember eating there at all. I do however, remember going down to Pig Alle or however you spell it at night.
