There are so many tragic events in the world today, sadness in our families and circles of friends, etc.... so that whenever we come across something that makes us smile it is important to relish the moment!!
So WHAT WAS IT today that made you smile??!!
For me it was watching my dog chase her tail for 10 minutes after being given her bath!!
And...receiving a snail mail letter from my friend Eileen!
Hi Train, you start such wonderful conversations, thank you.
Today my dh, youngest ds, and I were at my parents house and we all walked back through the field behind their property [about 20 acre field] When we were walking back the Lord brought to my attention how I was so thankful for my parents and that I still have them. Dh's mom has been gone for 12 years and his dad lives in Or. and they dont keep in touch. My mom and dad are like his parents to him also. This made me smile today.
Do you ever have a moment and you wonder if things will ever be the same as they are at that moment again? I know life is fragile, and can change quickly, so I try to cherish the ones that stand out and commit them to memory.

Hi Graceygrammy,
Thanks for the compliment!!!
Yes, I have those kind of moments too, mostly either in church or when I am traveling in a beautiful place...which, in my case, usually means a view out the train window!!!
On a lighter note, this morning I bowled a 175 (my average is only 128!!) and that made me smile!!!
Today all the beautiful fall leaves in the park brought a smile to my face!!
Fall comes to our neck of the woods much later than the rest of the country!!!
I take my dog on a walk through the leaves every morning and she love it!!
What made me smile today? A few things, actually. It started with watching the dog bound around our back yard--we've only had her for a week or so and this was the first time I was able to let her out without the leash(gate has been frozen in the snow!) She then came indoors and passed out in the middle of the floor!
The other was Vince--today is Picture Day and he asked if he could take a shower so he could be pretty. He had a bath last night at bedtime, and is usually more then happy to be dirty lol!! This was the first time he's ever showed an interest in being clean--usually bath time is water play time lol!!

Today I smiled to see how happy our little pekineese was to be brought home from the kennel! (We boarded her when we left for our camping trip.) Our little dog was so happy to see us I thought she would never calm down, just running and running in circles, checking out the house, making sure her food dish and toys were still in the same place, etc, etc.... It is good to be so unconditionally loved by a furry creature!!
Today my Sister called me just before she went inside the building where she works. It was 5 o'clock getting ready to cook dinner. She had dropped in to see how my Mom was doing and Mom told her I was worried about her. We are still very close even though there are many miles between us. She usually calls me every few days to keep me posted on her life and family. We were laughing how we are both so much alike worrying about husbands and parents. Hoping she can come and visit since we have not seen each other in a few years. Every year I tell her to come with Mom in the winter and take some time for herself. Sad to think how time passes so fast and our children are all grown up.

Today Memin and I were sitting on the picnic table watching Angel and Lobo play. Simple toys..a stick, a ball and a boy!
Then tonight at church was our pastor's 60th birthday party and the volleyball nets were out. My 3 guys had so much fun. I think that had to be the first time I EVER saw Dayne and Memin interact and play so well.
God is so good and HE caused me to smile !

Lunch with Mark and mom today!!! It was nothing special, just tuna, cantaloupe and peanut butter cookies,
but I set the dining room table and turned on the Christmas tree lights to surprise them!!!! Yes, you read right!! This IS the month of May but I do keep my tree up all year long!! The sign in our dining room reads, "It's always Christmas at Our House!"
