I spend about 30 - 45 minutes early a.m. before my kids get out of bed - this is my quiet time when I read the bible, pray and journal - (sometimes, I will listen to an on-line sermon and take notes) it is a great start to my day and worth getting up for. Believe me, if I miss it, I and everyone else can tell!!!!
It seems that somehow my time is multiplied and I can get ready, the kids ready and out of the house on time etc. - but if I don't take the time in the a.m., I am scurrying around and running late. Go figure. :p

I too, get up earlier than everyone, about 45 min to an hour. I have my coffee and watch the news, or catch up on mail. I love that time alone, when everything outside is still and quiet. The summers is esp. nice, Ill sit on the porch and just enjoy the silence. Then- the kids get up!!!
I also get up one hour earlier, do a bit of exercise then have my quiet time. I agree with what has been said in that it seems to increase my time in the day. I also love the fact that I have had MY time, and slowed down before the pace of my day picks up.

Where do you find the on-line sermons you mentioned?
I try to spend about 30-60 minutes in the morning before my one'n'only DD gets up and about another 30-60 minutes while I'm putting her to bed at night. Both times I journal, read my Bible, pray and read a chapter from a study book (authors like Max Lucado, Elizabeth George, Elmer Townes, etc).
I love those minutes alone. Very refreshing. That's when I feel like I'm still me and not only a Mommy.

James MacDonald is the speaker and he also has a couple of very good books out (I want to change, so help me God).
if you go the archived sermons - you will find a wealth of fantastic teaching....a great one I listened to lately was on contentment - now if that isn't needed by EVERYONE!!!! There were a couple of points that were life changing.
How about anyone else? Any other sermons you reccommend listening to over the internet????
Having the fast internet connection is an absolute blessing - since there is no such thing as Christian radio where we live. I hope you enjoy the site...

Reflective time for me is in the car driving and while working out at the gym. In the car I am alone and at the gym everyone is doing their own thing, so I have a chance to think things over.
My relxing time is at the computer. I often get up at 4 to get online before work. It starts my day out nicely (also a little Bible reading doesn't hurt).
Another on-line site to find sermons is on: http://www.cybersalt.org/cleanlaugh this is a site run by a minister and he sends out a clean joke daily as well (opt in only of course). He routinely downloads his sermons to the site.
