My 3 biggest pet peeves is people in the grocery store who park their basket accoss the aisle so that noone can go around. Then, that same person seems to not hear you when you say, "Excuse me." There have been a couple of times when, after 3 attempts, I just bumped their basket out of the way! I HATE those people who park in 2 parking spaces, probably so their car won't get scratched, leaving somebody without a place to park.
Also, I hate it when a car is driving 5 miles per hour BELOW the speed limit and as soon as I try to pass that driver, he/she suddenly speeds up to 5 miles per hour OVER the speed limit!
I also hate it when children run amok at the store or anywhere else for that matter. I also do not see what is so difficult about putting grocery baskets back where they belong instead of where they can hit others cars.
Im with you on all those DeBora!! About a month ago dh and I pulled or I should say tried to pull into a spot at the grocery store, and as usual a carriage was in the way, so I got out and moved it, and when dh got out he moved it, and 3 others to the corral, when we got to the door of the market, one of the managers happened to be outside and he had seen dh move the carriages, and he asked dh what his favorite soft drink was and dh said Coke (the real Coke not the no name stuff) and the mamager gave us a Free coupon for a 12 pk of coke, because he had to move the carriage, which I thought wa pretty nice.
Another pet peeve is (and this happens ALOT around here) people put up signs saying HUGE YARD SALE, with no date on it, so for all you know it was last week, and they are always all over the place, because they never go back and take them down!!

Wow! That was good that he gave you a coupon for a free 12 pack of Coke. I guess it paid to move carts on that day! That is why DH does most of the shopping. I tend to get VERY aggressive when I shop. Many people don't realize that driving the cart is like driving the car--stay to the right!!! So, when there is 2 people going in the same direction occupying the entire aisle--I want to stangle them! It takes a lot of restraint for me to go shopping. Of course, now that I am living alone most of the time--I have to do my own shopping. Since this has been a really bad day and I'm already ready to kill someone, it's a good thing that I don't have to do anything except go to the book store--which I think is a friendly place.
Oh yeah, and what about those people who have what seems like a hundred items who are in the 20 items or less check-out? I mean, where are the managers to tell them they are in the wrong lane?
DeBora I dont know if your grocery store has these, but around here they have these WIDEtoy cars built around a shopping cart to put kids in they hold 2 kids, and take up half the aisle and if another person is coming in the other direction and there is 2 of these carts forget it, you are stuck, I know alot of people will disagree but I think they are the worst idea, anyone has ever thought of as far as making shopping easy, lol. I HATE the things!!My dd says she wont let the kids in them (of course they are 6 &8 and alittle old now for them, but she said they are even hard to push around the store! They also have little kiddy size shopping carts and the kids push them around the store, (another bad idea) I should say they aim for the "woman with the blonde hair" lol!! What were they thinking??
Sandie, I do know what you are talking about. I haven't seen them at Walmart, but I have seen them at other chain stores. Some are even shaped like cars. They are very wide and hold one or two children. The ONLY special cart that I have seen for children that I do not mind is the one with the infant seat built in to the place where a child might sit. It doesn't make it wider and it does make it safer for babies.

I agree however not all the time is it the fault of the shopper. I was told by the cashier to come to that line when I had at least twice the required items. I told him and he said it was their choice to tell shoppers to come to them when no one else was in line.
So now I only get upset if there is a line and someone in the mid to back of line has more than the required number.

Yes, that has happened to me during slower periods. It's when it's really busy and both the 20 items or less lines are long and the people who have a lot of items' lines are long and these people think they can get through faster by going through the 20 items or less check-out. I agree with you, if the cheker is not busy and he/she tells you to come over and let him/her check you out, why argue? lol
My pet peeve is people who talk on there cell phone while checking out ...the whole time...making it hard to comunicate with them. A call once in a while or if they keep it short but how rude when you need to ask a question and feel like you are intruding on ther conversation to do your job.
I am guilty of taking more than 20 item people in my less than 20 lane. If you don't have nothing to do time drags. But it never fails they are like a magnet and soon there are people with the proper amount of goods lined up and being rightly preturbed. No right answer here I am afraid.
Another pet peeve is people who wait tell you have them half way checked out...then ask you if someone can go get this or that which they could not reach etc. Asking is fine but do it first or at the service desk. Then I end up closing my lane and waiting while someone gets them help and then gets the item for them. Ruins you checking time, plus if if there is not very many cashiers running it is really very inconvient for the other customers. I sure have a new found respect for cashiers!LOL

Candy Im not even a cashier, lol, and it bugs me to no end. We were in a restaurant just recently, and I specifically asked for a booth by the window so we would have some quiet, and who sits behind us but this couple that must have gotten at least 6 cell phone calls during the time they were there, and they just yakked away on the phone, and bothered not only us but everyone. I swear if I was the waitress I would have said somethng.DH has a cell because of his job, and leaves it in the truck. I do not even use one, I dont like them, and it irritates me to see [people driving and talking , I have a fit because my own dd does this! At least she finally got one where she can drive with both hands and talk too. Another thing that irritates me and you may see it now that you are a cashier is the ones that get in a line that says CASH ONLY, and than they innocently pull out a check book, or charge card and act like they didnt know!!!So they slow the whole line down!! I could go on and on about stupid people, LOL!!
