Mrs Maniac - I haven't seen you around much! I agree about some of the commercials - so suggestive! Isn't it funny to think that way back when the I Love Lucy Show aired that people couldn't even sleep in the same bed on the show if they weren't really married. We definetely live in a messed up world!

Pet Peeve:

People that are perfectly healthy and able that park in the handicapped parking spaces for convenience.

A lady driving a suburban did that at the post office today. When a man called her on it, her reply was " Well, I don't plan on being in here long."

(he copied down her license plate but I'm not sure what he intended to do with it)

I agree Abear, whether you are in for a seond or a minute you are still keeping someone who needs the space from it.

At our Meijers we also have spaces for expectant or new mothers. A lady parked there who age wise was not pregnant nor a new mother or grandmother (as no one was with her). She was still there when I came out so I wrote a polite note saying that she parked in a spot that was reserved and she did not fit the category. I placed it on the windshield so she could read it from the inside of the car. She did read some of it as when I was leaving she had come out and gotten in the car.

cell phones

 I hate it when I am behind someone who is "attempting" to drive and talk on their cell phone at the same time. They are all over the road, chatting up a storm, and not paying attention to what the heck they are doing. Then when you blow your horn at them or pass them and give them a dirty look, they look at you with a surprised look on their face like what was I doing wrong? Also going to a restaurant and having to listen to their conversation because they are talking so loudly.

Just this morning I was almost hit head-on by a woman yakking on her phone!! When I passed her again going the other way, she'd been pulled over--and was still talking on the phone! Unbelievable. And though I think they're a good idea to an extent, I'm starting to dislike those portable dvd players. There's a guy that drives around here watching adult movies on one--not that I have a problem with watching them, but you should be DRIVING not watching tv lol!! The police have told us that until he's in an accident there's nothing they can do.

watching tv while driving

You have got to be kidding! Wait until he's in an accident? What about the other people that will be involved in this accident? This blows me away. That has got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever heard. Other than the drive-thru liquor store I've heard about, this one tops it. And I thought cell phones were bad.

You're gonna love this!! He was involved in an accident this morning(driving home from the bar). And who was the lucky recipient of his front end? Our chief of police! And yes, the player was playing and several witnesses stated he wasn't even looking at the road--he made it about 150 feet down the street. Now we're just all hoping he learns his lesson. Unfortunately, it will probably be a DUI offense and he'll still drive around watching tv.

We have a drive-thru liquor store around here. It's nice to use, but of course it gets a bad rap because of the idiots that drink and drive! That could be said about any party store, though.

Hopefully the police will nail him on both....especially since they've had all the previous complaints.

But after what you have said about him, he'll probably just write everything off to "bad luck"....he probably won't admit to himself that he had any real part of the accident. Of course he'll claim he wasn't drunk.

Please keep us posted on this if you can. It will be interesting to see what they charge him with and what he gets for a punishment.
