carmag, YOU rock! That's all the type of music I loved and still do. It's a sad state of affairs to have to listen to the music the kids do today, so I don't. It's terrible! I feel sorry for my grandchildren growing up in such a rotten world of music. The poor little things know no better. Thank God my DD doesn't let them listen to rap, as if that's supposed to be singing!
And what about the Platters? I loved them. There were so many good singers and groups such as the Shirells (?) out there when I was growing up. I wish those times were still here. Oh, how I wish, with all it's innocence!
Lillee, I could bump into Steve Perry and not know him but listening to my kids music back then I have to say he had a beautiful voice. Did he have throat cancer? If so, did he die?
