Question Any online writing courses?

I used to write short stories when I was in high school and I have come across 2 of them and was thinking of rewriting them and making them better but don't know where to start. Are there any online writing courses that I could take or anyone have any pointers on how I can go about doing this. I'm thinking these stories might be great teenage stories that maybe could be published if they are good enough. Where do I start with this? Thanks ahead of time.

That is a link to a bunch of online help. You can also go to www.iuniverse.com where you can publish your own book when ready.

Go to any search engine and type in writing courses and you will finds lots of information out there.

Best of Luck

If you go to www.google.com and type in online writing course you'll find more than you can read..

3 I foudn are:

http://www.breakintoprint.com/s6195/

http://fiction.4-writers.com/creativ...-classes.shtml

http://www.write101.com/

The first one is for longridge writiers course. I took the test and was accepted. They tell me I have talent and show great promise. The catch is it's a several hundred dollar course. You are assigned a published author to tutor you but....it's up to your finances.

As for talent I guess I do since I am going to be published for the first time next month!! I have 2 stories being published in the first book of a planned series. (I only write true life stories.)

there is a thread about writing on here that I started some time back. http://www.familycorner.com/forums/s...&threadid=3779
It may have some useful tips listed--I really don't recall as it has been a while since I read through.

Good luck and remember to have faith in yourself and persevere!

There are a lot of online writing courses...you might want to take a look at a few web sites: writersonlineworkshops.com; writersweekly.com, and writingfordollars.com.

Another suggestion is to contact your local library or newspaper to see if there's any writer's support groups in your area.

Good luck!

Try community ed writing course for immediate and real responses. Might be cost effective and you'll get insights on the local market and other writier groups.

Consider submitting for your local paper. Did you see what' in the library? Hoemschoolers are always getting teaching books added to our system. I know there is a video writing course being marketed to the homschooling community. $250 but I don't have the name

Writing Course

Have you tried Barnes & Noble website? They call it B&N University. They offer free classes in all sorts of subjects. Of course, they want you to buy their accompanying book, but it's not necessary. I took an herb class and already had the Rodale Herb Book which was used for the course. Otherwise, it is free.

I had no idea that B&N offered courses-how cool. I have wanted to start writing some children books myself. My uncle used to be in a writing club that met once a month and he really enjoyed it and got a few things published. Of course, he is 300 miles away so that doesn't help at all.

Thanks so much!

Thank you all so much for all your responses. I will definitely check out the websites and Barnes and Noble. I didn't know they offered anything like that either! COOL! Thanks again!
