A question for Windows XP users

Do you have Windows XP? Do you like it?
More importantly, if you use it do you also use Incredimail? (the enhanced e-mail program). I want to download this program but am so scared to. We just bought this computer new for Christmas and I'm still afraid to download a lot. My dh who knew better, opened an e-mail on the last one and infected us with a virus and we finally crashed permanently.
When I went to download Incredimail recently a window popped up reminding me that corrupt and malicious programming could ruin the computer (in so many words). I became paranoid and stopped the download. I've hear that XP is very proprietary and find this to be true.

Help! Does anyone have this with Windows XP? BTW I REFUSE to download hotbars version. Hotbar IS evil. I mistakenly clicked on a link thinking it was incredimail and it immediately started downloading wihtout asking if I wanted to proceed. My youngest daughter did a spyware scan and hotbar had tried to hijack some programs.

I HATE HOTBAR!!

I have windows xp. I'm not sure that I like it either, a lot of programs that I bought don't want to run on it, so now I have the old computer windows 98 for the old disc and this one for newer ones. I really don't do a lot with mine except redo old pictures, and rewrite cds, at present I'm told that I do dvd rewrites on this one I dont know though not really had the time to explore the possiblites, I do have a digital binocular camera that is called Magpix 350 that I am having trouble downloading the pictures from I cant get help from ther support center, by email they continue to ignore me, I can't call because by the time I get home from work they our not in, I would advise everyone to be wary of this product , It is advertised on the internet quite often I suggest unless some one know how to fix the prombles with the program driver dont buy, and If you do know how to fix it please please let me know,

Oh marie--been there done that with problem programs. If anyone ever figures out a way to get tech support for these places to respond then please share THAT too.

Jane I know I would just like to pinch there heads off sometimes if I could just reach thru the phone and drag em thru, I am going to search the net for drives sometimes u can find patches, Oh yeah be sure to always update from your update link,

I have windows XP, but never even heard of Incredimail!!

But I try to load as few things as possible on my computer!! I like it to run as fast as possible.

What is incredimail? What does it do? I just use the mail thinggy from my IE, gotta love Bill Gates!!

Actually Karen today I hate Bill Gates. Windows XP has crashed on me all day long. I am SICK of it! I lost count of how many times it crashed while I was trying to get my freebie mailing ready to go. I finally prevailed over it though.

It offers all kinds of animations and sound effects for e-mail. I checked a little further on site today and it appears it launches an entirelyu different e-mail prgram from outlook. Hmmmm not sure I want to do that.

Jayne, it could be incredimail that's causing the problems.

I seemed to get a lot of problems with it, so regrettably I removed it. My mom was having a lot of problems too.

Try removing it and then re-install incredimail.

Hey Jane how you doing? try defragmenting your pc when my xp does that I defrag and clear all history and do a good file cleaning.

Thanks marie! Dh ran defrag this evening after I told him of the problems and your suggestion. He agreed it probably needed doing. I hope it helps.

Caron I don't have incredimail yet. I'm not going to now after what you said. I know I had hotbar for a short time and it caused problems very quickly. Oh well-I'll have to find other ways to have fun with e-mail.

oh I stand corrected - it was hotbar - yes problems. Thanks for reminding me.

I did have incredimail with my old address, but it was a pain, I liked Outlook better. My mom was having a problem with it, not getting all her emails. Then she got a message she had over 1000 messages, most to do with a male enhancer. So she ended up taking it off. My old address I started recieving porno emails and I didn't know if it was related to incredimail or not.
