How to remove those nasty >>> forwards

How to remove those nasty >>> forwards

Courtsey of Nagymom....

Copy and paste the document into word. Then hit ctrl F. A box will pop up, click on replace. In the find box type in the >, leave the replace with box empty and click replace all. Voila! No more annoying >'s and you can then copy and paste back into e-mail, etc. I used to spend ages deleting them until someone told me how to do this. It's one of the neatest and handiest computer tricks I know.

Thanks Jayne

I didn't know that one either. I have an email cleaner program that was free that does the same thing. You copy the email, past it into the program, click the clean button and copy and paste it into a new email. It will also take out some of the other unnecessary stuff that happens from forwards.

Sometimes what I do is backspace on the forward, taking off the unneeded stuff, like the list of all it goes to, change the subject line and email it then. I really try NOT to send forwards...I hate them, I don't mind e-cards, attachments of cartoons, but chain letters I despise. I don't pass them on.

So now if anyone has any tips, post them here...even if you think everyone knows that...sometimes I forget things, do you?

Janet

Janet.. you can outline what you don't want...hit CtrlX and it will remove whatever line/s you don't want.

Hi everyone
I'm posting here so I can get all these wonderful hints when they come in.

I send on forwards but I always delete the previous persons address before passing on.

I did't know the make the text bigger one either and I thought I was being smart by showing #1ds and he said 'yes I know, now here's another way'

A few cooking symbols
If you want to insert the degree sign in your recipes...

hit the Alt key and 0176 and voila - °
or Alt 0186 does the same thing.

Here are some others...

Alt 0188 - ¼
Alt 0189 - ½
Alt 0190 - ¾

Alt 0162 - ¢
Alt 0169 - ©
Alt 0174 - ®
