If you could live anywhere....

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose to live? And why? Where is the best place you have lived yet?

Hmmm now to answer my own question, I would love to live in Paris France. I have always dreamed of going there and I love the french language. My fantasy is to live there in some flat and eat all those yummy french dishes and speak the language of love...
The best place I have lived so far would be where I was born and raised. If I had answered this question say 5 years ago I would have said Florida (Daytona Beach area) that is where I live now. But even though the tropics are nice, the ocean is cool, there is nothing like good Old New England weather. I was born and raised in the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts. The place is beautiful.

I think I'd live next door to Trainlady. Her new neighborhood sounds great and I've always wanted to get to California.

If that wasn't possible; I would live north of the river (which where I live means that I would live in Missouri rather than Kansas. Not that I don't enjoy Kansas, however I would be closer to family if we lived "north of the river".

Guess I'm just a simple girl.

Julie

My daughter flew out to Missouri last May to go to a friends prom as their date. She came back with tons of photos. It reminded me a lot of Massachusetts (trees and general landscape). I thought it was beautiful. I don't know much about the west side of the USA but would love to travel one summer to see it all. I don't know anything about Kansas short of what Dorothy told us in the wizard of oz.....lol Any photos you have of your area that you are willing to post would be greatly appreciated by me.

Fish, are you part of the postcard exchange? I've got some postcards of Kansas and Missouri if you want to PM me with your address, I'll send you some.

My husband is from NY, or should I say he grew up for the first 34 years there in YorkTown Heights/ Ossining later as an adult. He loves NY and I have considered moving there but I want my kids to have some woods and trees and hills and clean air. I am leaning more towards where I grew up which is in the Western top half of Massachusetts. Yeah there is snow, and yeah it gets cold but it sure is beautiful and can teach one so much about nature.

Fish - the Adirondacks are beautiful - lots of woods, nature and clean air - and LOTS of snow, did I say LOTS!

Never heard of York Town Heights - must be down towards NYC

If I could live anywhere.......................?
Well it's not so much as where in location, it could be anywhwere in the world, but more as to liking a few acres with a reasonable size house with a verandah circling it.
Give me a few trees, a small flowing creek and a couple of cows, chickens etc and I think I could be happy
.......... but no snow thanks, don't want the snow!

Say Bilby that sounds real good minus the livestock though. I'll take flowers and a garden. Wonder where this place could be?
