Are there any other magazine lovers out there!!!
I subscribe to a handfull and I love them! Our library sells old ones for 25 cents and I am probably their best customer!!!
I cut out what I want from them whether recipies, articles to save or to send to someone, decorating and holiday ideas, etc!
I have a hat box full of articles I have enjoyed that I want to save, I whole lot more space conscious than the whole boxes of magazines I used to keep!
I subscribe to "Taste of Home", a cooking magazine with great recipies. One year I cancelled my subscription because I found I was just turning over the corners on the pages of the recipies I wanted to try and that was as far as I went!!!
Now, I actually MAKE the recipies! LOL!!!
Does anyone remember the Christian magazine "Virtue". It was a Women's magazine I really loved but I can't find it anymore. It's a strange thing, I love the articles in the magazine "Mothering" but I am not a mom!
I love sitting at Barnes and Noble looking thru the magazines!
If you could only read one magazine a month what would it be?
I love magazines so much that I have to be very careful that I don't order every offer that comes in the mail. I like the ones that have good receipes, crafts, decorating and encouragement articles - like Woman's Day, Family Circle, Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens -then all the special mag that Better Homes and Gardens company (Merridth Publishing) puts out. I am addicted to craft and scrapbook mags.
I take Quick Cooking though I used to take Taste of HOme also. All the mag in that company are good. Since I'm not much of a cook any more I decided that if I could only take one of them I would get more out of Quick Cooking since everything is fairly fast to prepare. I have gotten some really good receipes from both of them. I keep everyone and go though them all every once in awhile to get some new Ideas. One of these days I need to make a list of the reciepes that I want to try and note which edition they are in.
If I could only take one mag I think it would be one of my craft mag. since I get so much enjoyment and ideas of things I can make out of them. They enhanse my creative thoughts.
No I don't remember the mag you are talking about. Have you asked at a Christian bookstore? or checked on the internet to see if you could find a connection?

If I had all the money I spent on magazines since I was 13 years old, I would be a millionaire (okay, if I invested the money instead of spent it and got it out before the market tanked) but anyway you get the drift.
Currently, I really enjoy the magazine Real Simple.
I have for years torn out articles, pictures, etc from my magazines. Usually throw them away some years later. Lately, I've been storing them in three ring binders with the intention of organizing them by topic one of these days.
I used to subscribe to Virtue to but not in a long time. I don't know if it is still available or not.
Have you tried Southern Lady? It reminds me of what Victoria use to be. A new magazine I just got the inaugural issue "Legacy" Turning Family History in Art. A magazine you problay don't need but may have family and friends who do or will is called Berevament.
I subscribe to Quick Cooking and absolutely love it!! I also subscribe to Cosmo and can't put that down. I buy the occasional Family Circle, People, Womans World!!! Then I make myself not send in that "handy little" postcard to subscribe!:p
I love to read so I'd read about any magazine - time is the problem. I subscribe to Quick Cooking because I love to cook and try new recipes. I used to get Taste of Home but now I just get there cookbook at the end of the year which is a compiliation of the years magazines.
I also get Family Fun.
I just signed up to get Midwest Living because it was such a great deal - 3 years for the price of 1.
I check out of the library Good Housekeeping, People, Redbook, Ladies Home Journal, Handyman, Midwest Living, Organic Gardening, Mother Earth News, Newsweek, and Time. Now I see why I have a problem reading everything every month LOL.
Stitcher...Bless your "Little Bits" heart...I too lost my cat last year...Babbitt...maybe they are friends up in cat heaven!!!
Julie...Somehow I just KNEW you would be a magazine lover, too!
My mom gave me a subscription to Real Simple and I like the ideas in it on organizing but, as far as decorating, I am more of a country, stuffed animals, candles, potpourri, clutter type of gal!!!
MAmawW...I've not seen Southern Lady, I'll have to take a look next time I am in Barnes and Noble. I DO like Victoria, great for ideas on tea parties which I give for friends occasionally!
Lovetobefrugal....I looked at your profile and you and I have the EXACT same interests!!!
Have you camped this summer?
What is the longest bikeride you have been on?
Take care, ya'all and happy reading!!!
peace,train
I am a TN tea lover. Do you get the Teamail digest or Afternoon Tea Across America by the internet of 'Tea, A magazine." or The Tea Time Gazette?
OK so I am a dog person but I lost my husband May 8th to Lymphoma and my collie in August to lymphoma so I know what it is to lost those dear to you. My collie was a tri-colored like the orginal Lassie in Lassie, Coe Hom by Eric Knight. She didn't mind cats and my oldest grandson is a cat addict so I guess he will change his MamawW yet.
I am a total magazine addict as well I subscribe to Quick Cooking also! In addition to Family Circle/Woman's Day/Good Housekeeping/WomansWorld/ plus buy numerous ones throught the month.
I use to keep them also, but the piles got to be overwhelming and then I would never look at them again to get the info I wanted out of them.
Now when I sit down to read it, I tear out what I want for future reference and put it in a 3-ring binder that I set up that is divided into categories so I can find it later.
trainlady - I have only camped once this summer. We went up near Charlevoix (in Michigan) over the 4th. It was beautiful and a lot of fun. My boys love to camp and the twins (6) cried when we had to leave.
As for bike riding - strictly leisure here - I have never been on a long bike trip. I usually go bike riding with the kids.
Do you love to read too? What are your favorite authors? I love Jude Deveraux, Judith McNaught. I will basically read anything I can get my hands on. The downfall to that is I don't get anything done.
