I am interested in learning more about the card exchange.

Lovely day today.

I like the idea of a card exchange. It is so much fun to get a card in the mail instead of just bills and junk mail. Count me in if one gets started!

Dh and I took the dog for a long walk today then I spent the rest of the day starting to organize my kitchen. There is still do much more to do but I did make a dent. Tomorrow is church then grocery shopping and more organizing and laundry. One of my goals for the year is to get my house in order and get rid of things I no longer want or need. It's a HUGE goal for sure but at least I can try.

Paula, Jerry is always in my prayers.

Cau, I hope you are feeling better and that your cough goes away.

Donna, your tacos sounds sooo good! They are one of my dd's favorite meals. I will have to try adding avacado. And I am so glad you are back posting on the friendship thread!

Sharon, thinking of you and hoping your hip is better. You, Buck and Kelly remain in my prayers. How has the weather been in your neck of the woods? We have no snow here in NH which is very unusual for this time of year.

Sueanne, I have missed your posts. How are your gardens doing???

Hi to anyone I have missed. Time for me to go to bed. Tomorrow is another day and I am hoping it will be a good and productive one.

Hey yaa'll, how was everyones day?
Mark and I had a date day today and it didn't cost a thing 'cept for our sodas at the theatre!
We were given a movie and a dinner gift card for Christmas so we saw "We bought a Zoo" and then went to Red Lobster for dinner!

OMGoodness, was that ever a good movie! The little girl that plays Matt Damons daughter is a Cutie Patootie!!! Hope you have a chance to see this movie!

The shrimp and cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster were SO good! We hadn't ate there since we lived in Illinois.

A fun day with hubby!!!

Sammi, I did last year, what it sounds like you are doing this year, getting your house organized.
Oh, beleive me, it feels SO good when it is done!!!!
It took me several months because I just did a little at a time but I feel so good now!!!
This is a small house to start with and having a place for everything sure helped a lot, not to mention all the decluttereing I did!
What helped me was doing one drawer, one closet at a time, small steps so I wouldn't get overwhelmed.
So, good luck with your house and YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

Happy weekend everyone!

hugs, train

Hi Everyone---
I have had a miserable cold the past few days and haven't really cared about much. Worst than my cold is that DH also has it and of course no one is ever sicker than him--LOL. Needless to say the weekend is getting pretty long stuck in the house together.

Dd2 left Saturday morning to head back to college. She was home 3 weeks for Christmas break, but she worked quite a lot and we didn't see that much of her.

Everything else is getting back to normal. Our winter weather has been very mild so far and even had 50 degree temps this past week.

Praying for everyone sick and hurting. YOu are all in my thoughts daily.

I am working on decluttering. Need to get rid of all the homeschool supplies. Little bittersweet but that part of my life is over. Need the room and the extra money is nice too.

reading about you all decluttering, I know that I should do the same and think on it often.. I'm not quite a hoarder, but I do hate to throw anything out-although I do try to freecycle things I can no longer use and we now have a Swap Group where we can try to sell the stuff we want to get rid of locally.. Guess I'll give my dd the go ahead, so that she and my dh can start going through everything and try to get rid of stuff so we can start downsizing.. right now would be a good time to start that for us, since we don't know when our landlord will really get serious about selling this property, meaning that we might have to move (hopefully not for a long time yet)
I've been under the weather myself-I think partly from a bad cold and partly from being exhausted from trying to do the work of at least 3 people everyday I worked this week. Started feeling better yesterday though-at least being able to breath. Now I go back to work tomorrow for the next 6 days and hopefully we'll have everyone working and no call outs.. My one negative person will be back from vacation and I know she'll not be happy with the short hours we still have to deal with, but I have to try and stay positive, at least for myself.. tired of the negativity.
Been working on my family tree this weekend.. adding more names and info to my program and will do a bit more before going to bed tonight.. then I really have to stop that for a few days and get the afghan finished that I've been working on for dd#3., I have to find out if she's still delivering on the 23rd.. her dr was considering delivering earlier if the baby is still not gaining much weight.. I figure no news is good news, but I'd like to hear for sure..
take care all,
Pam

decluttering, me too, need to get another load into the Suburban and onto the thrift stores in town, the car is not in the garage and I wonder if it'll get there before the snow flies

we had another brilliant weekend with warm temps and sunshine, my mother's 90th birthday party was Saturday and some cousins stopped in that we all hadn't seen for ten years or more so that was a delight

it was a vegan meal...decent...roasted veggies, green salad, brussels sprouts with almonds and chestnuts, cupcakes, vegan ice cream, and tofu something I missed that one

about three hours later my family stopped at a restaurant to eat a steak or two

as train says, bwa ha ha!

apricot, probably pinks and peaches with touches of yellow and lavendar, think garden party style

Was wondering where everyone was and realized I hadn't subbed for the new year, lol.

I have read some but will be back later to catch up on you all.

Sharon, saying prayers for your family.

I'm decluttering too. I went through my kitchen where I store the pots and pans and found a lot of aluminum pie pans that I put in the recycling. Still trying to decide on which to keep on the 3 roasting pans.

Going to keep this short since I need to get ready for work now.

I want you all to take note that I have posted three times in the past 5 days! It may be a new record for me!!!!!!

Beautiful sunny day in California! I sat on the porch this afternoon with my book (The Help) and my soda.
Callie, my new kitten, crawled up onto my lap for the first time. It was so sweet I did not want to come inside!
I just cant get over these high temps we are having for January. I keep waiting for winter to arrive.

This morning I went to a nursing home and signed up to volunteer one time a week. Tomorrow will be my first day. Mark says I will probably make a lot of new boyfriends because old men always like me!!!! HAHA!!!

I made stuffed pasta for dinner and it is smelling pretty good!
Spumoni icecream cones for dessert!!!! YUMMY!!!!!

Happy Monday everyone!

hugs, train
