I'm sure there's a Kindle website that will take you step by step through it.

Amazon gives away tons of free cookbook downloads for Kindle and lots of free books, too. They also have lots of books for 99cents.

Have fun with it!! Give your kids extra kisses for getting you a great gift!

Coll--
Check with your local library, they may have downloads that you check out for free.

Read with it... Barnes and Noble sometimes has free or discounted offers for Kindle and Nook users. I received my Nook a few years ago, and I read all sorts of books and papers on it, and I share my account w/family. One of the main differences between the Kindle and Nook is the keyboard - Kindles is on the front, where as the Nook is more of an interface - as in more reading space. Also, the Nook I have is Black and White, the color version came out about 6 months to a year later, where as I believe the Kindle was color to start with (one of my cousins had her color Kindle before I had my B/W Nook).

Coll, I love my Kindle!!! I have downloaded all kinds of free books (including the Bible - they have a Kindle version) and lots of 99 cent books as well have bought other books. Many libraries also let you borrow books for Kindle. It is so cool that you can take many many books with you where ever you go. There should be step by step instructions that came with your kindle for registration and set up through Amazon. They are so easy to use and I know once you get the hang of it you will love it. Happy reading!
(but as much as I love my Kindle, I still love reading real books too!)

I have been going crazy with my kindle. I have a notebook to list all books purchased and those I want.
I have a special envelope with spending money in it. I will use that money to purchase books that I want.

Coll funny you mention a notebook for listing what you've read, I do that to for series of books from the library and for those I've read off my iRiver.

did you get a reg kindle or the kindle fire? Last yr I received a kindle, loved it, and this yr I received a kindle fire.. Love it that much more.. it holds more books, watch video's, read, play games, even can do facebook, etc. I'm amaze how much I love my kindle.. in fact can even hop over here.
The only problem I have is typing. I learned to type with both hands, and on my kindle the keys are to small to type like that. LOL.. so it one finger typing which I'm learning to do..
nearly every book I have I have received free. With the kindle fire, so many good movies you can watch that are free. even watch utube much better, GODvine, and those other little short video's... not as much problem as watching them as I do on the computer with my kindle..

If you not a kindle lover yet, girl, you will be and will wonder how you have made it without that in the past...
Enjoy.

Coll, I knew you would love it once you got the hang of it. It can be addicting! I love mine. Just got back from a weekend away and took my Kindle which was so nice as I didn't have to bring a bag of books with me.
