You should see the mess in our house. I have not been able to clean in a month. (due to a sprained arm) Now Mark, bless his heart did keep up with the dishes...........or atleast kept up with them once there was a big old pile in the sink. The linoleum kitchen floor has not been mopped in a month. Nothings been dusted. I could go on but you get the picture.
Now........Mark does not seem to see the mess and it does not bother him. It has always bothered me. I like the house to look nice. When I wash my hands in the bathroom, I refold the hand towel that lays on the counter. When Mark washes his hands he throws the towel, all wadded up, back on the counter. I try to keep the dining room table clean. Mark thinks any empty surface is a place to stack things.
Do I just throw the towel too? Do I just leave things on the dining room table and not mind...you know, reprioritize my feelings on what I think the house should look like or just keep refolding the stupid hand towel?
Do you see the mess in your house or is it just in mine?
maybe see if he will agree to a compromise. Choose the two most annoying and ask him to try and work on them, and you will try not to worry about the others?

Mu mother got one about fifteen ;years ago, very hard to find, I would make room for one in my kitchen if I knew they still made them.
And train, I fight the same battles at my house...tables, counters, the whole nine yards. I'll clear something off for a party in two days and it will be filled up when I go to set the table the night before.
The girls shared our bath for a month and at one point there were five wadded up washcloths on the sink btw the laundry basket was an arm's throw away...you could get a petri dish or petri film and culture the wadded up one versus the one hanging up, that would be a revelation! We did that and all of a sudden the girls are washing their hands more etcetera....
If we are having company though, every one has to pitch in and move those piles and I have to admit some of the corner of the room piles could be mine...

I just gave away a gas stove like that to the Amish! I used it in my basement in the house we lived in years ago. Loved it, but no room for it here and we are all electric; I sure miss that stove!
