Last night Jasmine came into our room to tell us she was going outside to save a baby bird in her window well. What she didn't tell us is she tried to climb on her bookshelf to see the baby bird. Broke the bookshelf, banged up both legs. She has a huge scrape on her thigh. I told her no swimming until that heals up. She is mad says I am mad well yes a little. That was a nice bookshelf! Then Gregg told her the bird probably died anyway. Jasmine talked to it, named it, explained why it couldn't come into the house. Comedy central at my house.

Your story about Jasmine, the bird and the window well reminded me of my youngest daughter. DH and I were gone and she came by but had forgotten her house keys. Then she decides to break a basement window and climb in. Well she cut her wrist so she went to the neighbors house to get a bandaid. The neighbor thought she had tried to commit suicide. We got it all straightened out but there was havoc for a bit.
Happy Fourth All! we are just here for the weekend, not even a picnic planned but house projects and R and R for all...When I was two a window fell on top of me, everyone panicked but me, I thought the shards all sparkling were pretty. But I stayed still until they could figure out how to rescue me from a pool of broken glass. What pandemonium with the grownups! Kids usually do stay calmer don't they while we are thinking of everything else that could go wrong!

I used to forget my key when I was a school aged kid. So I would haul the trash can over to my bedroom window, climb up on the can, take the screen off, open my window and go in. That worked until I broke a blood vessel in my leg. After that my mom made me wear the key on a string around my neck. Both my parents worked.

I am laughing at all the stories. My oldest use to forget his key alot and one time he broke into our skylight. Then a few days later in a wind storm the skylight blew off. We didn't know for years that he had broke in by the skylight and that is what made it blow off in the rain and wind. I jokingly told him he owed me $800 for the repair. That shut him up real quick. LOL!!!
We have a picnic and fireworks tonight at our house. So I am getting things ready. Made pasta and macaroni salad already. Made brownies. I am cleaning the bathrooms and the pool this morning. I am running out to Walmart to get soda and last minute things for the picnic.
I never had a problem as doors were unlocked. Even when we moved here in '68 we did not lock our doors. I loved those carefree days. Hope all are having a good Saturday. I just spent last couple hours out on my porch, ate my cottage cheese and tomatoe along with Peach tea while out there too. Now back in here as getting too hot for Panda and I.
