Did everyone have a nice weekend.

Buck got home today. He and Roland across the street were up North since last Thurs to fish. I now have packages of fish in my freezer. I had a quiet weekend. That's okay. I like quiet and boring. I guess it's my age.

Ds's cancer treatments have messed up his hearing. He had a hearing test today. Don't know at this point how bad the problem is but he didn't need this. Another problem to deal with.

There was some talk at the end of the May thread about hanging clothes outside. I too love the fresh smell of clothes when they have been hanging out. Especially bedding.
I have no outdoor lines here. I do miss that.

I am hoping everyone has a wonderful summer.

don't know what I can do for my Dad-can't bring Mom back to him and that's all he wants. Hopefully I'll be able to talk him into going out to eat with us that day-what day is Father's Day on???
Will be getting dh a new DVD player for the bedroom TV-unless we find we're moving soon...
Have my gd's dance recital on June 5-have to put aside the cash for that tomorrow and I want to get her some flowers to present her with. She's 5 and this is the first recital we'll have seen-don't think we're going to see her pre-K graduation...

Not sure what we are doing for Father's Day yet. Can't believe it is June already. Today would have been my mil's birthday. Dh said he will go take flowers out to the cemetery today and visit her for awhile.

Sharon it is a shame you don't have outside wash lines. I love hanging my wash out.

Patti it is nice you send cards to your sil's and brother for father's day.

Heading to work. If we hit 90 today it will be an official heat wave. All I know is it hot!!!

June 1st and I am inspired to hang a clothes line outside! I miss the fresh air smell from my youth in Arkansas.

We are not sure about Father's day either... but there may be a bucket of KFC involved and a nice park bench.

Pam, sorry your dad is goin thru this feeling, but it a normal feeling for so many. I belong to a grief site and have heard this from so many.. all I can say it is a rollercoaster ride, a void that is hard to fill, and one is never the same.. Best thing is to keep him in your prayers and have others to pray with you for him. I'll be one of them.
As I pray for widow and widowers on a reg. basis as I know the feeling one goes thru there is nothing like this pain we have inside of losing a mate.
If you ever need to just talk about this more with me, feel free to email me.. if u do not have my email let me know and I'll give it to you.. Hugs sweety
will be looking forward in seeing pics of your gd's recital,

Sharon, sorry to hear of your son's having earing problems due to the cancer. Hopefully it will come back... beside that how is he doing?

I always thought I would see my gd's graduation of her going into 7th but don't look like I've even been invited... of course don't know if they have one or not. but assume
they will.

Been invited to one graduation party of a young lady that went to the old church I did go to.. if I can make it I will.

This past Thur night was another red hat function, we went to Cheesecake factory.. I always wanted to go, so it was interesting. Each one of us got a differet kind of cake. This way we could all share. Price on cc was high but oooo sooooo gooood, and so many different kinds.
I ended up ordering the upside down pineapple...

Recon is growing and learning, and gettng cuter by the minute I do declare..

Need to go and read up from last month fship flower... hard to believe it is June.

Pam could you do a remembrance of Mom for DAd in some way? a photo album or something? a movie clip?

I get little things all year for Father's Day: a grill pan, three posters of rocks, a pair of pj pants, etc...usually just a dinner and the kids make homemade cards, usually with a deer or dog on them, he got a LIfe is Good PJ top one year with a dog holding a marshmellow on a stick by a campfire and it is a favorite. I think this year he'll just want no household things breaking or being ignored, so he can truly rest on that day. I remember my mother saying, oh don't get me anything, just give me a day without arguing with each other, I guess we were a little bit loud, Italian family figures

Here is something to consider about clotheslines. I never did install eye hooks for the line - I wound the cotton clothesline cord around the 4 in deck poles a couple times and the friction kept them in place. I made four lines from three poles. Think about a triangle, ABC, and I strung from AB to BC to CB to BA; and for the CB to BA I strung them about four feet lower so it was two lines one on top of each other and a little bit displaced from each other horizontally because of the four inch thickness of the post, so small things could go on top and large on the bottom. I had to move the round table so we could eat lunch out there but that fresh smell, oh my! I only wish I had laundry to do today but I don't.

I've got to go outside and put in the rest of the cukes. Will string lines from the swingset side frame post to support them. Must shovel dirt first and am waiting for the cooler weather, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...........

Cau we'll be thinking and praying for you. I had it done and it is good to be functional again. Don't be frustrated with the weakness initially, it will return, maybe slowly but it gets better.

so hot, so sticky, so tired!where's the beach vacation when you need one?

dd1 called us from DC, they had HAIL! that means tornado weather?!
