How did you find FC?

I was on another board, too many problems on that board. Someone from here told me about FC. I don't think she is here anymore.... she knew everything about canning.....

Connie, being a home daycare provider can be very isolating when it comes to having adult conversations. So one day I went on to google and typed in something like "newsletters for women" just to find some interesting articles to read etc. and FC came up and looked like what I was looking for. I signed up for the newsletter and started getting it and really liked it. I would visit the message boards but didn't post for a long time, just lurked. Then I found the friendship thread and decided to jump in and the rest is history. FC is amazing. I never imagine finding such good friends from just subscribing to an online newsletter. Everyone is like family - we laugh and cry together, pray for each other, celebrate and commiserate together. It is my connection to the adult world that I do not get from my job yet so much more than that. I feel very lucky to have found FC for sure.

Used to go to another forum. Amanda took it over and FC was mentioned. Now the other forum seems all but dead. Facebook and the like must be taking over forums and blogs too.

I was looking for crafts to do found the fc newsletter so I check out the fourms liked what I saw & joined.

I Googled frugal living as we had just bought a new house and was back to house payments. I found the frugal thread joined then started investigating the other threads

I was looking for info on preemies. My gd had just been born August 29, 2002-3 months early. She and my dd#1 were still in Chapel Hill so I decided to find any and all info I could about preemies. Also, was looking for a forum to talk to people with preemies to learn from what they'd gone through.
I ran across FC and signed up. Found a couple of preemie lists about that time and FC was forgotten for about a year-ran across it again in 2003 and I've been here ever since. Even with FB, I'll always return to FC

FC was referenced through The Dollar Stretcher many years back and that's how I found my way here. This was my first experience with "live internet" and am so glad that I found such a friendly, warm group of ladies.
