VHS tapes, DVD's & Blu-Ray????

We started years ago with buying VHS tapes to watch at home, then went to DVD's, and now Blu-Ray have come out. Do you have a library of VHS tapes, and/or regualr DVD's? Are you starting to discard those VHS tapes? I just wondered with all the money that has been put into watching movies at home what others are deciding to do with the different systems and videos that go with them? And where do you finally put youir foot down about having to try and keep up with the latest versions.

The only reason we have a Blue Ray DVD player is a good price at Christmas. We still have some of our VHS tapes and the player. We don't buy the fancy stuff. I always try to wait until the price comes down. We are not 'keep up with the Jones'!

Judy still has a VCR and watches the tapes all the time as well as having a DVD and watches. She has CD's, Cassettes and Records and plays them lots too.
I have DVD player in my room (watched it once) and out in LR. The only reason I have one in my room is because Gina gave it and new Flat Screen TV to me for part of my Christmas.
Adam has BlueRay did have XBox but it died on him. I don't keep up with the Jones either

WE have both a DVD player & a VCR. We also have two small TVs, one that has a VCR built in & the other has a DVD player built in. At our garage sales there are lots of VCR tapes on sale, mostly for $.25-$.50 plus DVDs for $1-5. I have picked up a few that we would watch. The people that are getting rid of them either don't have a VCR anymore or they upgraded to a Blu-ray DVD player. We still tape on the TV-VCR thing but have a DVR in the living room. We still watch movies on tape & DVD.As long as they still play okay I see no reason to get rid of them. Our library is slowly replacing the VCR tapes to DVDs as no one is renting them. As for the Blu-ray, as long as our DVD players still work fine I see no reason to get one. WE don't feel a need to keep up with anyone.

We kept one good VCR but have scaled down to just a few videos and replaced most of the favorites with DVD's. We have a DVD player hooked up to the flat screen TV and then I have a small portable one that I use for my exercise DVD's and dh has a slightly larger portable that he uses for work since he makes DVD's of the city's kid's camps for the parents. We do have a blu-ray player, only because dh found a brand new one at the thrift store and it works fine. We only have a couple Blu-Ray DVD's that I won. We have satellite and record a lot of movies directly to that, which saves space that DVD movies take up. It doesn't really matter to me but dh now prefers "high definition or HD format" now, he mainly records from the satellite.

Happy face

We donated our old VHS tapes to the library, since our old VHS machine was broken. The tapes were mainly childrens' videos, and our ds and dd are now adults. We do have a dvd player, but we don't use it very much. The kids use it when they come to visit to rent dvds.

I still have a vcr and have kept all our vhs movies and we have a couple dvd players and lots and lots of dvds. I hate to say goodbye to my vhs tapes but what happens if my vcr breaks? They are getting harder to find. And I wonder about my dvds too because it seems eventually movies will all be digital (no disc or anything)

I still have cassette tapes alspo that I listen to; most will be irreplaceble ao guess those songs will be lost. I am just so tired of newer versions coming out and you have to buy the newest just to keep being able to watch or listen to movies, cassette tapes and such. We don't do it to keep up with anyone, just to be able to watch what we want and listen to our oldies!

We have a vcr, cassette player and dvd (never had a cd player except in the car) we are so out of it LOL. I bought a vcr tape at a garage sale this summer Oh God! was great to see it again with the kids. Was funny to see how Bruce/Evan Almighty were updated versions of the movie.
