August Friendship Flower thread

Wow can you believe it is August....where has the summer gone????? I decided to open this thread a little early since it is a long weekend here in Canada and i may foget and you will be stuck in april forever....LOL

I am still struggling with health issues...I am only able to eat very small amounts of food at a time and it has to be a pretty bland menu. I am still weaker than normal and getting my monthly visit from Ms Mabel has not been fun...feel like i could sleep all day.....hopefully the doctor will check my blood work for forms of anemia to see if we can fix this. The kids are all great though...my middle son is home from cadet camp ...had a great time. He was averaging 150 km a week in bike riding, hiking and canoeing....so was tired when he got home. Paige has been a big help to me with work.....I may not have been able to without her help. Next week she goes to dance camp.....she is excited about that. We also have tickets to go see the black eyed peas on Sunday night.....that was her birthday gift....I just hope I can handle the night out at least mon is a holiday so i can rest up. Ryan is still enjoying his Banff adventure camp.....last week he was on a trek they went up to 9000 ft elevation.....he said it was fun but he was tired out.....this week he is in camp doing leadership skills and first aid training.

So what are your plans for the month????

hugs debbie

debk- I know you've been posting but I hadn't really read through everything, now I see you've been struggling for a looooong time with this digestive disorder. I hope you can get some respite soon....

my plans for August are all in housing, to get the girls settled in at school, to get me settled in at a job (either fixing up my house now that they've taken all their stuff out of it or to set up a room in an apartment if I am going to be working away from home), nevertheless, August does not disappoint me once again as it is truly a transition time from summer to fall

DebK, so sorry you are still having health problems. And I know first hand that running a daycare is not easy when you are not feeling well. I am very glad to hear Paige is able to help you out. I do hope the doctors can figure out the cause of your problems and help you to feel better. It sounds like your dks have had a very busy but fun summer. I hope you have a wonderful time at the Black Eyed Peas concert. Take lots of pics if you can.

Ellen, I hope things work out for you in the housing department all the way around. Hopefully you will be able to find a great job soon. I was reading an article the other day about how Sept. should be the time for new beginnings and fresh starts instead of January as it is in Sept. that school starts, we put away summer things and get out fall things and get out of the lazy days of summer and back to routine. I agree with you that it is really a time of transition.

One more day after today and I am on vacation. I have so much to do I don't know how I can possibly get it all done. My family is not exactly helpful by any means and with having all my dc kids here it is hard to get anything done during the day. I am hoping my van is fixed either by the end of today or early tomorrow so I can make sure it is cleaned out and ready to go. If it isn't fixed by then we will need to take two cars on vacation. We will be at our cottage on the island for vacation and take day trips from there but right now I am just looking forward to sitting in a floatie in the lake and doing nothing! After vacation the rest of August will be filled with getting things ready for ds1 to go back to college and ds2 to go back to school. summer is flying by! I am hoping to get the lawn mowed tonight after work. Then I need to get groceries so I don't have to do it Friday night. I need to make sure dd and ds1 have food here at home as well as the food we will take with us to the island. And that is just some of the things that need to be done. Well, back to work for me. Hope everyone is having a good day.

Sammi have a great time on vacation.

DebK hope you get all your health issues solved soon. Sounds like your kids are having a great summer.

August we have birthdays--Both sons have b-days on the 5th and 8th. One will be 22 and the other 28. Both my father and my fil have b-days the end of the month. My dad will be 72 not sure how old my fil will be. I just know he is older then my father.

My son and dil's 5th wedding anniversary is at the end of the month. My younger sisters 22nd wedding anniversary is also this month.

I will be busy getting Tara back to college and Stephanie ready for cx and her senior year in high school.

I was wondering where you were Debby? Glad to see a couple posts from you. So sorry you are having such problems. Hope the doctors figure out a solution soon. It is soooo hard to be possitive when you don't feel good. Love all.

Just subbing~ Deb I hope you soon get some answers, soon
Sammi have a great vaca, just relaxing on a floatie in the water sounds "great" to me, we are still dealing with my mom, she just now called me and said they are moving her to another floor, which tells me the therapists have done all they can with her, so this is the next step, before the assisted living(that she doesnt even no about) so we shall see what happens next. I got a call the other day from my Aunt in Fla(my moms sister) and she told me my Uncle (my moms brother) was rushed to the hospital, he has Parkinsons so I dont know if it had to do with that or what, but we have decided to not tell my mom just yet(its her baby brother) he is 15 years younger than her, and I know it would really upset her, my Aunt was upset enough. Will post more later Hi and Hugs to All!! Hi Candy nice to see you posting!!!!!! Hope you're not still "dipping" cute teddies in wax, lol, I always think of that when I see your posts
