Movies from years gone by

I was watching a movie on TV yesterday and it got me thinking of all the movies I had seen at a theater on dates during my teenage years (and gave me a chuckle to think of some of the old boyfriends back then too). But thinking a little further I realized I actually do associate some old movies from then with certain boyfriends. Some I can remember well and others...... Do you have old movies you can remember and who you saw them with, what theater or drive-in, and do you associate songs from those movies with certain people? Some of mine are Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, 2001 A Space Odyssey, and Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice. What's your story?

When I was young, there was actually a movie theater in my small town and my mom took my 2 brothers and me there to see all the old Disney Movies. When I got a little older I got to go to the movies with my friends. I remember going to see Mary Queen of Scotts with my friend Bonny and Cynthia and we ate way too much candy. And I went to the movies there for the very first time with a boy (Brian) to see 80 Steps to Jonah (which starred Wayne Newton) We were both 10 years old and it was Christmas vacation. I have since tried to see if that movie is out on video but can never seem to find it.

I have no idea what theater or even what years they came out but use to love to go to the JUDY CANOVA movies. My dear G-mom use to take me. I remember Judy's character getting a broken leg and I cried buckets and poor Mama did her best to explain to me that Judy actually did not have a broken leg but it was just a part she was playing. I am telling my age here lol wonder if anyone else remembers that actress?

I went to the movies EVERY Saturday as a child and teen. My friends and I met there and there was always 2 features, a newsreel and a cartoon or two. We also had sing a long movies, where you followed along to the bouncing ball. I can just imagine the sophisticated kids these days sitting in a movie theatre, singing their heart out. We used to love the Ma & Pa Kettle movies, and I disliked greatly the cowboys and indians ones.
My dh and I had our first date at the movies and we went to see Lil Abner, LOL, our first really dressed up date was to see Ben-Hur. That was in the late 50's.

Missibob I remember the sing along with the bobbing ball too. That was fun also the theaters I went to had the Pledge of Alegiance (I know that is misspelled but you know what I mean) before the start of everything.
I loved the Ma & Pa Kettle ones too. And anything with June Allyson or Susan Hayward Glenn Ford

I remember going to see Halloween with one of my best friends as a young teenager.

Also, ET is still a favorite. And then there's Flash Dance.

The first movie I ever saw was Cinderella when I went along with some neighbor kids. Their parents had a white station wagon and there was only one drive-in theater around and no walk-ins. It had a green and orange neon sign that we could see in the distance when we stood on the hill next to my house.

I dated my now husband, Danny, off and on since I was 16 and didn't go to the movies with any other dates, just friends or my brother who is no longer living. I went to see Let It Be with him. I remember seeing Annie Hall in the drive-in with Danny and people were honking and yelling about how boring it was. I didn't care for it much either. We also saw the first Star Wars movie there and thought it was really something at the time. I've seen it on TV once since then and it seems pretty boring now but I still like R2D2.

Donna, That's awesome. My favorite part of Cinderella was when she was singing and the animals were trying to help her get dressed up. I can't remember the name of the song right now.
