Aussie Female Prime Minister

Our Prime Minister has the same job as a President, as of 9.30am this morning we have our first female PM, Julia Gillard.

Julia Gillard is to become Australia's first female prime minister after Kevin Rudd stood down as Labor leader at a caucus meeting this morning.
Ms Gillard, not Mr Rudd, will now decide when to lead her party into the next election.
Mr Rudd, who made "a very gracious speech", stood aside to avoid a humiliating defeat.
Treasurer Wayne Swan was elected deputy leader unopposed, Senator Michael Forshaw announced after the caucus meeting.
Senator Forshaw said it had been a very difficult time for Mr Rudd and the party.

Lets see how she goes.

Hi Kathy
Not a fan of it all I'm afraid. I will wait and see as there are no other choices, but I wonder at what is really behind it all. I think she will get them elected and find herself out. JMHO

Looks like we might be heading toward our first female president here in the US if things go the way a lot of people want.

I hope that all works out for you!!

The sunday paper here had a big double spread on it all, if it's all true there were 4 major people behind the push for her in him out. I don't pretend to know it all but .....

I'd have to say I'm not a fan of Abbott at all maybe the minor parties will get a look in, saying that it depends on where there seconds votes go.

Tami, what is the name of the possible female for president, not heard any peeps here, I do know that Obama cancelled twice on visits here.

There's lot of rumors swirling about Sarah Palin running for President. I'm not crazy about her at all - not what she stands for - but as an individual.

many things from her last election foray, President?

Well it seems to be all hitting the fan now!
We had our major election yesterday, Julia Gillard was an interim PM till elected and I think she had a great surprise. My take on things is that she or the Labor party didin'tlike some of Kevin Rudds performances so ousted him, now many say that is the very thing that is doing her harm as if she ousts her own party leader how can you trust her?
It's a very close election.
My local member here is a person I've met and not liked in the least, I felt the need to go wash my hand after his shake, ewwww!

I know you are supposed to vote for a party and their policies but to be honest some of the chosen leaders of those parties are just not likeable LOL

So lets see who will be the Leader of Australia tomorrow.
