Do you live near a park?

Do you live near a park where you and your children can play?

We live right across the street from a park! My nieces love to play therre when they visit. They especially like the spray park! There is a big picnic area we have used for family birthdays and that we will use for my birthday this summer.

The little kid in me sometimes goes across the street to swing!!!!!!

hugs, train

We don't have a park in our town except for the school playground....we are a very small rural community. But we do have a network of walking trails through the woods and the river runs very close and there are beaches near by with play equipment.

hugs debbie

We do! It's small but they've recently re-done it to add a small playground, a walking trail all around the park, a skate park and a dog park.

I live near 3 parks. One is huge and has lots of equipment for kids to play on as well as tennis courts and two baseball fields. the other park was just redone with new equipment and though small is lots of fun. the third park is swings and a big slide that is too tall for smaller children. We also have 2 really cool school playgrounds the kids can go to when school is out.

Donna, I can just see you playing on the swings. I have secretly thought about doing that but was afraid I would break them with my weight. We have lots of parks in our city and one in walking distance. I used to go there to walk around the 1/2 mile track but had problems with people's dogs and bikes so stopped going. There are three parks close to where I work and two where I like to go to eat my lunch sometimes. One of them has several tables under a large gazebo and also a walking trail. My dh works in the office for the city Parks and Recreation Dept. so knows better than me how many we have. I know there is a large sports park that is fairly new and they show free movies there on Friday nights in the summer.

I take my dc children to the local parks and go on the swings with them. I figure with the heavy chains they will hold me. I love to swing. I always thought they should build a playground for adults with swings, slides and teeter totters all sized for adults so we could play too!

We have 8 city parks in my town 3 of which have tennis & basketball courts. The rest are smaller with just swings, slide, teeter totters, etc.

We do live about an hour away from an amusement park, $170 a pop for a family of 4.

DH and I live on our "park", since we retired and live on 30 acres in a very rural area and no one in sight we have taken a 2 acres almost open area and made it "our park". We have volley ball and horseshoes available, walking trails through the woods, and are still deciding on what (and when) to have some children's climbing structures built. We are deciding between a pirate ship, a tractor, and a few other things. No grandkids and probably will not ever be, but we like the looks of them so we decided we would have some built anyway! Patoka Lake is only about 5 miles away with a beach and other park like areas, and a camping park about 5 miles away, but we have our own "park" right here at home.
