Kathy it probably makes them feel special too to offer you the candy. Maybe they miss their own grands.
I only had Dad's mom and Mom's Dad when I was born then when I was 5 Mama (as I called my g'mom) remarried and I had a wonderful g'dad. Lost bio g'dad when I was 14 and step g'dad when I was pg with my oldest child in '56 then lost Mama when my oldest was 14.

Gum drops, spearmint green leaves, Hershey bars, Peanut butter cups and pressed coconut candy with red, brown & white stripes. Gum was Juicy Fruit but I don't do gum any more.
They are so lovely that couple.
I have another lady on that Meals on wheels run that loves my shorter hair, she said she had hair clips from her girlhood that she's like to give me when she found them, we aren't supposed to accept gifts in case they later think we stole them (due to mental health issues) so I'm not sure how that will go.
Spearmint leaves not seen them for a while I love those. We also have strawberries and cream lifesavers and I can sit and eat a packet of those without stopping LOL!
I only had a grandfather growing up. My memories of him are very good ones but I don't remember him buying me candy. LOL I do remember this young couple that live upstairs from us. Their names were Theresa and John. I just loved this couple. I can remember John loved ice cream and he would take me to buy some on summer days. They would always remember my birthday and till the day Theresa died I would received a birthday card from her. They never had children. We remained friends through the years. John died 3 years ago and Theresa died 2 years ago. They were both wonderful people that I will never forget........

Bazooka bubble gum that was sold as a single piece in a square shape. When u opened the wrapper it had a joke inside. I think the wrapper had red, white, and blue on it and the gum itself was pink and usually hard...

My faves were Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip and a candy called Monster Truck Tires (don't think they make them anymore) they were like giant sweet tarts in the shape of a tire
