Sammi sounds like your friend Mary was well liked/loved in town.
Yes think Steven and Mr Nealy/Neely will do well together. I think it is algebra that Steven will be doing. I hated it and never did even one problem.
Adam will be working at the store doing renovation. He does not know if they are going to reopen or if Don is going to try to sell it. Time will tell. He is just happy to have a job again.

Sammi sorry about your friend who passed. It sounds like she was very well loved.

Snowball congrats on the marriage!

Connie it sounds like you and your DH handled your situation well. I hope your family comes around one day.

Does anyone else think its just ridiculous to have to work tomorrow on labor day?? What's the point of this holiday again? I do have to work and I don't understand why we even have holidays anymore when you can't enjoy them.

thank you Theresa.

Punky
mom passed in 99 and I miss her. One never stops missing them, but life goes on. Just to a different norm, but the memores are special.
Learning that especially with my dh that passed in April.

Sami,
not sure about parking ticket and will not know until next week.
but thanks for asking
she was very much love to have a waiting line that wrapped around. A great tribute to her.

Didn't do no garage sale, due to the fact I forgot I had to have a permit to do one. So will have to schedule it another time.
Did spend night Fri night with dd, and was with her on Sat, as the kids were over at thier brother, spending the night with him.
The kids are always together now, which I'm glad of. They need to grow up together as much as possible, they love being together, althought they do fight from time to time, but don't most sibling. LOL

Connie I'm proud of how your dh handle the situation,

Snowball, congrualtions to your wedding, may you have many wonderful yrs.
also want to welcome you to FC, as I've not met you.. do you have any pics where we can see? feel welcome to tell us about the wedding as well.

Snowball, congrats on your marriage. Yes, fall is a busy time of year for everyone.

Pattie, glad Adam will be able to continue to work.

Lauri, we have that same kind of deal at Applebees, my fav.

Felicia, I'm glad Mrs Mabel showed up.

Joy, I hope you find out details of the job offer soon.

Dinsky, glad your dh is feeling better. Enjoy your visit with his parents.

Sammi, how wonderful there such a turnout for Mary.
To freeze apples for pie, wash, peel and core. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Treat to prevent darkening. I use EverFresh. Put apple slices in boiling water 2 min. and cool in ice water. Drain. Pack apples into plastic freezer bags or vacumn pack.
I put the apple slices on cookie sheets and put into the freezer. After they are frozen then I bag them.
You can also freeze apples in syrup. Use heavy syrup. Add 1 tsp product protector such as EverFresh to each cup of syrup. To make syrup use 4 1/4 c sugar and 4 1/4 c water. Bring to a boil, simmer until dissolved. This gives you 7 c syrup. Let cool.
Ladle 1/2 c cold syrup into can-or-freeze jars or plastic freezer boxes. Press apple slices down in container and add enough syrup to cover, leaving 1/2 inch headspace. Seal, label and freeze.

Been busy all weekend. All the windows, blinds and curtains are washed. Outsides of the windows are done also.
Tomorrow is laundry and not much else will be done.

Hi to everyone.

We had a reallly fun time last night at the coffeehouse. Sorry a couple of the links did not come thru. Seems I have a lot of problems when i try to post links..........

Today we went over to our friends house to watch the race. Though he did not win Mark was happy with Mark Martins 5th place (because of the chase...)

hugs, train

Snowball congrats on the wedding.

Felcia it is a shame you have to work on a holiday.

Sammi sounds like you friend was a wonderful person to have that many people come say good bye to her. Sounds like you are having a nice weekend.

Train the coffehouse sounds really nice.

Sharon I have never freezed apple pies. I have froze peach pies. I like peach pies better after then have been in the freezer then fresh out of the oven.

Everyone else I miss I hope things are going well for you.

Dh and I had a nice time at the State Fair and concert last night. DD #2 has a cross country practice today. We will take DD #1 back to college this afternoon. My mom and dad surprised us yesterday by stopping by our house. My parents don't come over this way much so we only see them when we go to their house. It was nice to visit with them for a little while. My mom's tomatoes didn't do well this year because of all the rain. So I gave her some of mine. It was nice to give her some veggies instead of me always taking some from them.

Well time to get my day started.

Theresa, you've fixed so much in your home--you'd probably do great fixing the truck as well.

Felicia, I'm glad that all worked out for you.

Snowball, it's great to see you back here! Congratulations on your recent marriage

Coll, I guess you will just have to spoil your nephews, then, for a while. Maybe by the time your DD is ready to have kids, she will want to live closer to you.

Sharon, great directions on freezing apples for pie. Thanks for posting them Of course, if I tried that, my Big DS would find the pie filling in the freezer and then just eat it out of the containers

Punky we were both posting at the same time. I'm sorry you had a rough day yesterday. I hope that you have many happy memories of your mom to help you through the tough days.

Patti, I'm glad Adam has a job, at least for the time being.

Connie, I think you handled your fil just right! And I love your dh’s response to the reunion question! How has Stuie been lately?

Snowball, Congratulations on getting married!!! Living on a farm must be a lot of work but also a lot of fun.

Patti, I am very much like you – I avoid math like the plague! Had to take it in college though and luckily had a great tutor! Glad Adam has a job at least for now and with any luck they will reopen the store.

Felicia, my dd and I were talking yesterday about how it used to be so much better when holidays were actually holidays and everything was closed! Sorry you have to work today – dd has to work 8 hours today and was not a happy camper.

Bar_Bar, hope you can find a good weekend to have your yard sale. So great you are getting to spend time with your dd and with your dgks. Isn’t it nice that your dks pull together and spend time together now.

Sharon, thank you so much for posting how to freeze apples. I had no idea that could be done and am definitely going to try it. I know it would make baking pies so much easier.

Donna (train) So glad to hear you had fun at the coffee house. We used to go to a coffee house near us that had live music on Saturday nights. Haven’t done that in a long time though.

Theresa, glad Glen was able to get the truck fixed. I bet you would be a great mechanic! (I, on the other hand, have a tendency to break things rather than repair them so I stay away from anything too complicated LOL) Glad Glen got to have the day off.

Charlotte, glad you and dh had fun at the fair. Also glad you got to have a nice visit with your mom and dad. Glad your dd got to come home for the weekend. I am trying to talk my ds1 to come home for Columbus Day weekend next month.

Barbszy, hope you are having a good weekend. How does Luke like school this year? Is your big ds glad to be a senior?

As today is Labor Day, I actually have the day off from work – and still get paid! Got the living room and dining room cleaned yesterday and today am getting groceries, mowing the lawn and tackling the dreaded bathroom. Of course when dh and ds2 get home from the island they will wreck havoc I am sure. Dd had to work today so will be gone all day. I actually slept in till 8 a.m. this morning which is unusual for me. For once I am not feeling exhausted. Not much else going on around here. Will be glad when ds2 and dh get home. Have a great Monday everyone.

Congrats on your marriage snowball!!! I love your user name. I have always wanted a black kitten and name it snowball or blizzard!

Barb now wouldn't that be fun to have apple pie filling in the freezer? Yummy!! Dh asked me yesterday if we needed a walk in freezer. I had to admit I had been pricing commerial freezer. He laughed and shook his head. Praying for your family and the other family.

Hello to everyone today!
