Thanks to all who gave suggestions for the play props. I checked the Target here and they had several sparkly little girls slippers but no red and they were over $ 6 a piece. Since it is so hot here and the play is supposed to have a humorous slant we decided to go with children's flip flops that craft stores sell for 99 cents this time of year They won't have to fit perfectly and the kids can decorate them with glitter and bows. No spray paint since that is a negative thing here due to the gangs use it a lot.

The city is buying a broom and mop and a few other things from the dollar store. I checked recently and didn't find a rubber ax so the kids will have to make that.

I'm not much of a seamstress but may end up making a full apron for Dorothy's costume. I made several bonnets once for a Western camp and got stuck on one part of the instructions but made do. I think an apron will be easier.

Connie--I am so glad you like your new job. You are doing something you really like. My new job is more a paycheck--not my dream job.

Bar_Bar--This week I have been a bit teary eyed when thinking of my old boss who died last fall. The Auction for the business will be this Saturday and me starting my new job have made me wish he was still with us. John has been gone just long enough now for you to miss him when you do the things you did together. Have a good cry and remember how much he loved you. We love you too.

Well off to work----????

Joy, glad the job went better yesterday and hope today is even better.

Connie, glad you like your job.

Bar_bar, glad grocery shopping is easier for you. That was a very hard thing for me.
Have a cry whenever you need too.

I am not doing much today. The last 2 afternoons I spent weeding in the veggie garden and flower beds. Have a little more to do. However, my knees hurt pretty bad today and are pretty stiff. Maybe tomorrow. I might scrub a couple statues that sit by the garden pond. They need a little painting but have to be cleaned first.

Hi to everyone.

Apricot, if you need some help with the apron, pm me, okay?

Joy, hugs. That would be so hard. You aren't attending the auction are you? I hope you can find some fun in your new job.
I have delivered one Avon order, stopped at the post office. Now I think I will take it easy. Plus fix my computer dh messed up. Grrrrr.... he needs to learn how to use a computer but messes mine up all the time. I think his fingers are too big for a laptop keyboard. Thinking about baking some today as it is cool out.

Just checking in for a bit
Bar bar, Isay go for it and try taking some courses, I have a friend who did that last year(she was 58) and now she works in an Oral surgeons office and loves it!
Joy glad the job is getting better for you, I always hated being the "new" person at a job. Its still in the back ofmy head to go out and get something part time at least, every time I think of doing it, I get a stomachache lol, its been so long since ihave worked (over 12 years), Ihave a good friend that just went back to work after not working for 16 years and she said, it took her 4 times to actually, open her mouth and ask for a job application.
Connie, wow, you even made tips, thats awesome!!What type of school did you go to, you made have said, but I forgot .I had Caityln here the other day , and took her over to the swing park, (she had never been on a "big girl" swing, lol just the baby ones, she loved it. I cant believe she is gonna be 2 in Aug.(she is gonna be tall, because she is as big as some 3 years old, (her dad is 6"4, my dd is taller than me, around 5'5) Im the shortest one in my entire family lol, 5"2". Have a good day all well Im getting the "error" message when trying to post the pic, so I just reported it on the "technical" thread. Will try again later. Hugs

Sandie, I went to college in Omaha at a massage college, tranferred to Hot Springs Bath House and College. Then this summer I took Reiki classes. I am trained for swedish massage, prenatal and infant, hot stone, deep tissue, swet thai. My other classes have been feng shui, color, herbs and essences.

I have been window shopping online for another massage table or a better cart. It is hard carrying a lightweight table that weighs 35 pounds. I noticed last night my carrying bag is torn up on the bottom. Now my table is getting scuffed up. Need to fix this fast!

Little cooler today 84*. The fig trees have stopped producing since the figs have become waterlogged and fall off. Now that I have the meal saver will be using it for the figs later on. .

Sharon....Yard work is hard on the knees and feet. My toes start to bother me when I do too much yard work they stiffen up once I sit down at night. Never feel anything when I am working.

The other day we went over to DS house and cut back the side hedges. They are old so Dh had to use a chain saw to get thru the thick stuff. They are half the size now where they can be cut arms length with a hedge clipper. They look bare but with all the rain it will fill in fast. Will go back in a few days to do the other side hedges. With this heat don't want to get sun stroke so go early and home for lunch.

Connie....Glad to see You are enjoying your new job. Good for You learning something new.

Lisa....Glad You got the check from X.
You do such a good job taking care of everything .
The Lizzards are having a good time eating all the bugs. Making themselves comfortable on my outside chair. Took the pillow in so it doesn't get moldy. They don't bother anyone so leave them alone.

Barbar, I read somewhere that in 4 years you will STILL be 4 years older whether you go to school or not! When I was teaching college, I had students in their 50s. It's not as uncommon as you think!

to Joy. I'd stay far away from that auction. It would just be too hard!

I will be at the auction. I can't let my boss's wife do this alone. Our family are very close and have been through alot in the past 20 years. I am prepared to cry. I just hope I don'e cry too much. Some of our business associates will be at the auction too and I am looking forward to seeing some of them again.
Work is some better, but very physically demanding. I come in at 8:45 each morning. Start the coffee, prep veggies and anything else that needs doing and wait on customers until 10:30 by myself. The second girls arrives then with the days food and we usually have just enough time to get things unpacked and make a few paninis ahead for grilling before lunch starts. I am the person doing the cooking and plate filling. We do have a girl that comes in for 2 hours during service to help clean table and do dishes, but when her 2 hrs are up she has to go home ( boss says). Today about 2:30 I finally got to sit down and get a bit to eat. Then the other girl (the one who comes at 10:30) goes home and I am alone to do dishes, refill, sweep, mop, take out garbage, wait on customer and close at 5:30. I am exhausted when I get home. I am the oldest employee and do the most work. It is going to take some getting use to physically. At least on Mondays and Fridays I get to leave at 3:00--so no mopping those days, but the lady who does it is the next oldest employee (????)

Sueanne--I am not really a reptile person, but your lizards are kind of cute.
DeBora--I have been reading your posts on your Grandchildren thread. Hang in there. Your Dgks are really lucky to have you in their lives.
Hopefully I will have some time this weekend to catch upmwith everyone.
