Ikea
Do you have one of these stores near you?
Do you like it?
We had one near us when we lived in Pa. and now one has just opened near us in Charlotte. I love walking around there getting ideas for decorating! If I had an endless supply of money I could have a blast. lol
I always manage to find something to buy no matter what. I love their little gadgets!

My daughter has turned into an Ikea fanatic! ROFL!! She LOVES to go there to look around. Many times we don't buy a single thing but she has such a good time window shopping.
Tami I love Ikea.....we have bought many things from there...the closest store is in Ottawa about an 1 1/2 away but we love to go

Yes there is one 25 mins from me and I was there monday week ago.
Do I like it, yes for even if you don't want to pay the price the set ups they have in store give you great ideas on how you can make better use of storage you already have at home, or can get cheaper elsewhere.
Down side flatpacks! Grrr these can certainly be a challenge on occasion.
Recently I bought glasses, and a pot steamer for my rice cooker, my mum a bathroom cabinet and coffee table.
The even have good food.

Their chocolate cake in the restaurant is quite good!
We recently bought one of their pink flower shaped lights for my daughter to use as a night light. Finding a very low wattage bulb for it was a challenge but we did. She loves it!
We bought dressers from there about 8 yrs ago and they are still going strong today. The end tables that we use in our living room are actually night stands from there. We cut the legs down to size. We've had them for 8 yrs., too. I stained them back then but now I'm planning on painting them.
Yes I like Ikea a bit pricey on some things but like some one else said I love their gadgets. Bought my kitchen stool from there for $15 could not work in kitchen without it got it 2 yrs ago next month when off with Susie on our b'day get away. As far as I know the closest store is about 3 hours from me maybe 4.

I cant live without Ikea. They just opened one a year ago in October right up the street. I too love their gadgets and the kitchen ones the most! FUN! Always something different. My whole office is Ikea, it used to be my dining room and family room "stuff" in LA. Thank goodness my husband can put all of the pieces together. That is the only bummer but its how they keep their prices down.
The cabinet on the left? I have one on the right and two behind me double this size. (great places to cram stuff when you need to clean quickly!) hee hee!

There are 2 Ikeas near us (one about 20 minutes away, one about 1 hour away). I generally like their merchandise, but I've learned not to purchase a few items. Their bookcases are great, but we had problems with their dressers. My dd dresser drawers never fit perfectly and now are nearly impossible to close and open easily. IKEA does have a lot of fun and funky "stuff" -- cool mirrors, lampshades, gagets, etc. that we have never had a problem with.
As an interesting sidenote, there was an article in the Los Angeles Times last week about IKEA in Japan. Apparently, the stores are wildly popular with customers who come for the food and to try out the furniture etc. Some families make an entire day of it. However, no one buys any of the merchandise. The Japanese treat IKEA more like a amusement destination. IKEA is hoping that with an improving Japanese economy, people will start to purchase their wares.

Sue - are you in The Southland??? Isnt that Ikea on the 405 the BOMB! That is the best one I have been to, and I think the biggest. And they built that big warehouse right at the bottom of The Grapevine so our Ikea's get replenished frequently.
I think its a fun day. I do go early so I can get a good parking spot. The parking lot here is too small. In LA it didnt matter. Plenty-o-parking.
I'm not surprised about the Japanese issue. It will change. How can people not buy? Cheap (most of it is reasonable) and cool stuff.
