Among the other books I am reading, I have started reading Prairie Tales by Melissa Gilbert (thank you, Theresa!) I have to say I am almost half way through already - can't seem to put it down. In some ways it kind of ruins my illusions of Little House on the Prairie but it is kind of cool learning about all the behind the scenes stuff and makes me want to go back and watch the show again.

I just finished My Face to the World by Joy Brown. Joy is an "online buddy" of mine for about 15 years--we used to belong to this group on AOL. Recently many members of the group have found each other on facebook and I learned that Joy had written a book about her experiences the year she was diagnosed with, and treated for, breast cancer. Reading this book is like reading a series of letters written from Joy to the reader. It's not set up as letters, but it just feels like that. It was a very good book.

I have two books going right now.
My audio book that I listen to during my drive time to and from work is an older Patricia Cornwell book call Portrait of a Killer--Jack the Ripper Cased Closed. This is basically a non-fiction story on the case she makes tha walter Sickert was Jack the Ripper. So far it is very interesting.
In the house I am reading Debbie Macomber's Summer on Blossom Street. This part of her Blossom Street series and if it is like her last books it will be a nice feel good read.

I just finished reading the best book. It's called Love's Pursuit, by Siri Mitchell. I didn't think I would like it at first, because I don't normally read historical fiction. But, this was an exception. It's about a young girl growing up in the harsh life as a puritan. It was a sad ending, though.
Now, I am starting Fast Food Nation. So far, I am enjoying it!
Take care!
Jamie.

I am reading Sing Them Home by Stephanie Kallos. When I read the prologue I almost put it back in the library bag--but page 2 had me hooked! It's an odd story, but Kallos is an absolutely poetic writer. The story involves ghosts, tornadoes, and missing people.

I am reading MyHome is Far Away by Dawn Powell. It is a family chronical set in early 1900s Ohio. When the author died in 1965 virtually all of her books were out of print but recently many of her books, diaries, letters and short stories have been reissued and she is finally getting the recognition she deserved with many of the other literary greats. I had never heard of this author before and picked this book up for 50 cents at a book sale. I am a quarter of the way through and it is great. this book is fiction but fairly semi-autobiographical.

There are so many

I am a Nora Roberts freak and I just finished "The Sign of Seven Trilogy". The trilogies are my favorite ones of hers. I am looking forward to the next one.

I also read Janet Evanovich - Stephanie Plum series. These are really cute books and I have almost all of them. I've been trading with my daughters so we get to read them all.
