Charlotte, does your friend realize what type of damage can happen when a child is left in the crib all day? It is called failure to thrive. It is terrible. The one case I saw the child never was normal. Please talk to your friend! Could she raise the baby?

No news on the job. Dh found out he did not get a raise this year. They are holding off to see how he works after being off work for six months. Since this has never happened before, this is a new rule. And since dh worked for 12 years with a bum shoulder due to workers comp refusing to pay for surgery...... we are guessing he is on the blackball list. Oh, and it took the company two months to decide all of this. Can we safely say dh is screwed? If he wants a raise he will have to crawl and beg for it. I. Do. Not. Think. So. If this other job doesn't work out, we will keep searching. With. Our. Heads. Held. High.

I am going downstairs to have a date with the treadmill, bike or weights..... something.

Our trip down to VA was fairly uneventful.
We stayed with her boyfriends parents in their log home. It was so peaceful. Hidden away in the woods. No traffic, loud noises. AHHHH!
Justin did NOT propose as planned. The ring he is giving her wasn't ready so he wants us to go back down for Christmas. I hope we are able to make it.
On Saturday, we went into Washington D C.
Went to the Museum of Natural History and the Air and Space Museum. We were so close to the Washington Monument and the Capital Bldg. So much walking.
We got a very late start for home.
At 8:30 p.m. we stopped to stretch our legs.
We were sitting in a gas staton parking lot, Maddie said I'm starving can we go to McD's. I said that we had already passed it llets go to Denny's. They didn't want to go there but we were right next to it.
As we walked thru the lot Maddie said Mom, that guyi looks just like Jeff Hardy (WWE). I said yeah a little. Once we got in and settled at our table, Miriam said That has to be him mom. Of course I said quit staring. She said Mom, the other guy looks like MVP (WWE). Finally, she got up the nerve to go over and ask him if he was indeed Jeff Hardy. He said Yes. He gave her his autograph. She wanted a pic with him. I said only if it is okay with Jeff. He said sure. Maddie was scared to go over to him, so he came over to our table and put his arm around her. After we finished eating, Miriam asked the other one for his autograph. There was another wrestler there named RTruth. Got photos of Miriam with him and MVP. They were so excited. I dsaid now aren't you glad I refused to go to McD's?
They can't stop talking about it.
I'll post pics as soon as Miriam transfers them to the computer.

Sandi, that is horrible about that little girl.
She will need therapy. When that guy gets to prison and he will, he will get his from other prisioners. Even hardened criminals do not like child molesters.

DeBora glad to know you and the MIL are together on this. I can see where MIL will have to kick them out. It is a shame that everything takes so long and it is understandable that you want something done now. I hope you can get custody.

Coll, sounds like a wonderful time away. I bet the girls were so excited. Do they like MMA?

It rained all yesterday and then turned to snow. So this morning I had to scrape the sidewalks clean.
Snowblower was still in the shed. I left the driveway for Buck. He got most of it with the snowblower. He had turned the gas off to the motor. No wonder the darn thing wouldn't start.
Repairman was here for the oven. He will be back in the morning. He thinks it needs a new starter because it doen't light right away. It probably does but he didn't even wait for it to light so he could see the flame. Think he will have more to do tomorrow than he thinks he does once he sees it lit. I wiped soot out of there this morning. So it is not burning clean and think some of the holes are plugged since there is no flame on the back of the burner on one side. I told him him about the soot and left the rag I used on the cabinet top along with some large pieces.

Sandie, that is heartbreaking about that little girl.

DeBora, I am glad you and your MIL are on the same page as you deal with your dds situation. I too, am glad you atleast have some sort of plan if you do temporarily end up with the grkids.

We had squaredancing tonight, had a great time!

hugs, train

Happy December everyone! I can't believe it is already December, the time really does seem to go faster as you get older. I have been really busy around here, I have decorated my whole house except for my tree. That will go up tomorrow and then we will decorate it this weekend when the grandkids are here. We do the hot chocolate and Christmas music while we trim the tree and they are always so excited to come across their favorite ornaments. It is such a blessing to have children in our lives, they help me to keep focused on the really important things in my life.

Felicia, I love your Christmas tree decorating tradition! It sounds like a lot of fun. I think my grandkids would like the idea of naming my tree. Do you mind if I "steal" your tradition?

Denahowy, it sounds like you have the holidays under control. I have most of my stuff bought, but I still have a few things to pick up. You will enjoy doing the gingerbread house, we did one last year and the kids had a lot of fun.

Cau, you are in my prayers. I hope you get the answers you need when you call the doctor.

DeBora, I hope you can get everything worked out with your DD and grandkids. My heart goes out to you, you have so much on you right now, I can't imagine the stress. But I know God will work it all out...you are in my prayers daily. Hugs.

Theresa, your MIL is truly unbelieveable!!! Bless your heart! But I like Barb's idea about being gone...you can come visit me and we'll have a southern Christmas! ( and you won't even have to shovel snow!) As always...you are in my prayers. Hugs.

Sandie, I'm glad your Mom is having a good time in Florida. She really needed that.
That is awful about the little girl being molested. You are right, we really don't know about people. It is so sad that there are so many sick people in the world.

Sammi, don't stress about being behind in your Christmas preperations, you are one of the busiest women I know. You will get it done. Hugs.

Charlotte, it sounds like you've been busy, too! I hope your DS calls you soon.

Connie, that is terrible about your Dh's raise.
I'm praying that the new job comes through.

Coll, your trip sounded wonderful, I have always wanted to see Washington. How exciting for the girls to get autographs and pictures with the wrestlers.

Sharon, sorry that you have still not gotten your oven fixed. Isn't it aggravating when repairmen act like we don't know what we are talking about? Hopefully you will get it fixed tomorrow.

I hope you all have a good night.

Hugs...Linda

Sharon, who or what is MMA. Can you tell I don't follow things much? The girls don't even watch wrestling that often, but know who some of them are.
I haven't paid much attention to it since Goldberg was big. Thats been a few years.

Charlotte, Sounds like both your dks are really busy. I didn’t think anyone had to start paying back student loans if they were still attending school even if it was part time. Will you ds have to start if he is a part time student? Sounds like your house is very Christmassy. I haven’t even started decorating yet. I am glad your dil has heard from your ds and hope that he can call you soon.

Connie, sorry to hear your dh did not get a raise this year. I do hope he hears from the new job soon.

Has anyone heard from Joy? She hasn’t posted in awhile. Wasn’t her mom taken to the hospital? I hope everything is ok.

Theresa, I hope that you were able to sleep well last night. It is good that Glen is willing to pitch in and help with the decorating. I have no idea why my dh just doesn’t like to do it. I hope to get my outside lights done today so at least we are looking a little like Christmas.

Coll, sounds like you had a wonderful trip. That is so very cool about getting to meet those wrestlers. I bet your dds were over the moon! I truly believe that sometimes things happen for a reason which is why you missed that McDonalds! Can’t wait to see the pics! Isn’t it funny how we notice such a difference when we get to stay at someplace in the woods where it is very quiet and peaceful.

Sharon, we had the opposite from you, snow then rain. Isn’t it frustrating when a repairman doesn’t listen before starting work on an appliance. I hope he can get your oven fixed properly today.

Donna, I am glad you and Mark are having so much fun with square dancing.

Linda, I am glad it isn’t just me who thinks time seems to be flying. It must be a lot of fun having your dgks helping to decorate the tree. We always drink eggnog and have “It’s a Wonderful Life” on tv while we decorate the tree. I think my dks would prefer cocoa LOL

Five dc kids today but so far so good. I let them watch a Christmas movie in the late afternoon if they are good. Yesterday we watched Rudolph. Today we will watch Frosty the Snowman. I am hoping to get the Christmas lights up on my deck today since it is sunny out and a bit warmer. I can get them done when the dc kids are napping. I am nervous about putting out any inside decorations too early as I will have to police the tiny tots. Most of them are very well behaved but I have a couple little ones who like to get into everything. I think I will have to be selective about what I put out for decorations this year. Laundry awaits. (where does it all come from???) Hope everyone has a great morning.

Sorry, I only have enough time to post the lastest. DD was told last Tuesday that the case worker was coming to swab her mouth for a drug test. DD fled to avoid it, with an excuse that she had to work. The case manager is allowing her to take it today--a week later!!! Most drugs leave the system 6 days later--at the latest. I just don't get the system.

They are now living at a motel again for a couple of days. Then, they may go stay with some friends or step-family of SIL. Who knows. I just don't get it. I worry myself sick over these GKs. At least my DD called and told me where she was going to be staying because she said that she didn't want me to call all over the country looking for her.

DeBora, I think I missed something, where are your GK's when your dd is staying all over the place, are they with you, or her?Sorry I just got confused, Ifeel for you, I would be a basket case.
Darryl was talking to our next door neighbor, and he said the "pedophile"(thats what the neighborhood is calling him now) is in protective custody at the jail, becasue they fear for his life, I told Darryl they should put him in with the general population, and see what they do, lol. Also his wife is saying its not true, but we all know better, they had to have proof to arrest him, I certainly cant understand why she would protect him, I would say see ya later, and get the fastest divorce in history. He deserves all he gets, and then some.
I just got in, I had an early dentist appt. at 8 am, well for some reason they were already running late, and if I have to sit for more then 5 or 10 min there, I start to panic, and guess what, it happened, and I told the receptionist, I had to leave, and would call to reschedule, Im such a BABY I hate myself for doing it, (its not the first time either). I was literally sweating and shaking when I left there.
Oh Sammi about the Fingerling potatoes, I thought (and maybe it was me) they had a little bit of a bitter flavor, Darryl said they tasted like regular potatoes, lol. I left the skin on them, and just washed them and put them in the stew whole.Maybe it was the skin I was tasting, anyhow they browned really nice in the gravy, lol. I still have another bag of them to use up, maybe I will peel them.Im starting to run out of new ideas for meals lately, that was one reason I picked them up, just for a change.
Coll, Darryl would have loved to have met those wrestlers, he is a fan, I think the one he likes is John Cena. The only one Im familiar with is Hulk Hogan, lol, just not a fan.
Well time to get some things donearound here. Have a good day all, Hi to all I missed!!
