Debbie,

I've watched the US version of this show for many seasons. Its most recent run of episodes here just ended recently. It's a great show, with lots of amazingly-talented dancers.

If your show is the same, at the beginning they pair up the dancers and each set picks from a hat to see which style of dance they'll perform each week. As the season progresses, one girl and one guy leave each week.

It's gets more difficult as they switch partners and then have to do two different styles each week.

I was really impressed at how well the individual dancers did in styles completely far afield from their own style -- many of whom had never danced with a partner (the hip-hop dancers in particular).

Liz I too watch the american version....they are running the Canadian one the same and the judges from the American show are sitting as guest on panels. I have been really impressed with the level of dance we have seen so far....so many amazing dancers. This week they head to the finals to pick the top 20....will be interesting to see who they choose. Our champion mens single skater is going to the finals...he had been the national Champion for a few years now he wants to prove he is also a dancer. Can't wait for the top 20 to begin performing.

I was just remarking to my DH that I'm still enjoying the aftermath of So You Think You Can Dance. The show used lots of current top-40 tunes, and now that I listen to the radio a lot more during my commute to work, I really enjoy the tunes that they used in the show because I can remember the wonderful performances with some of them. A real plus!
