March 15-20 -- Won't You Be My Neighbor Days!! Celebrating Mr. Rogers

The city of Pittsburgh, Mr. Rogers' hometown, is celebrating its 250th birthday and honoring the life of Fred Rogers on March 15-20 with Won't You Be My Neighbor Days.

But even if you can't be in Pittsburgh to participate in the festivities, you can still celebrate Mr. Rogers on what would have been his 80th birthday. March 20th has been designated Sweater Day. Kids and adults around the world are invited to don their favorite sweaters and "make the most of this beautiful day."

Oh I wish i could take Maddie and Gabe to this. Maddie knows who Mr. Rogers is, ut I'm not sure if Gabe does or not. He was a big part of my upbringing, and dd1 and ds's too. I still like to sit and watch him.

I too, have great memories of Mr. Rogers. He was such a calm and positive influence on kids. I miss him like I would miss a member of the family. I will be wearing my sweater on that day to honor him.
