Windows Vista...

Does anyone have Window's Vista???

I have now...My other computer had Windows XP and when the computer downloaded updates from Microsoft it fried my computer...it crashed with a big bang...Hubby bought me a new computer with Windows Vista...now I have a Lexmark all in one printer/scanner/copier...tried for 4 days to install it on the new computer but nothing would install,discovered at lexmark.com that you need a different driver because of the Windows Vista and same for my HP Digital Camera...

So if anyone decides to upgrade their computer to Windows Vista make sure that you can download for free any and all drivers you need to run your printer/scanner/copier/camera...

So any printers or cameras that have a web site should have the downloads for the drivers for free...

I got a new laptop a few months ago and I had to buy a whole new all in one to work with it. It just turned out to be cheaper to do that and know that it would work. We can only get dial up where we live so downloading anything most of the times just doesn't work because it takes so long and we frequently get knocked offline.

BuddyBeanieBaby, do you like the Vista yet? I didn't at first but now have a hard time going back to XP which is on all our other computers.

We've had Vista for a couple of months. I still don't like it, but am being helped by getting The Computer Lady's learning Vista emails. Here's the link http://www.asktcl.com/newsletter.html

This has happened to metoo. I just gota Delllaptop cause my HP crashed.I too, had a Lexmark 1200 and had to order a new all in one.

I wonder if that what happened to my computer. Was it the hard drive that crashed. When you tried to get start it did you see a blue screen telling you to start in safe mode, but couldn't do it?
My first computer the mother board broke, then the one a friend gave to me that had been sitting around not in used what I describe above happened.

I now have Vista. So thanks Sharon for the link I will subscribe to it.
So far I like the vista. I was really concern getting vista, but that all you can find these days.

now I'm wondering if the scanner in all that I needed to download a driver would be a good idea to do or not. MMM, I hope I don't have to buy another printer for my new computer.

I have to have a computer for work to get my jobs, and for school.

Forgot about the computer lady and just found this link again, does anyone know if her stuff is free. I haven't subscribed to it yet because I didn't see anywhere on that page it linked me to saying if was free. Anyone know?
