I read Me & Emma in 3 days. I couldn't put it down. Not sure who has finished it or not but the ending totally blew me away.

I haven't had a chance to read it yet, but with a recommendation like that Sammi, I think i will make a point of getting it read.

I don't want to give away the ending either. I didn't see it coming AT ALL! The book was heartbreaking and, like Sammi, I couldn't put it down.

I think it was all the more real to me because of our little friend Adventure Boy's situation. We know he is not supervised, his sisters help him with his homework, no one makes him a birthday cake, he doesn't want to be at home. He was all I could think of as I read this book.

If anyone still wants to read this book, I will wait to discuss more about the ending.

I will say that this writer really can tell a tale, and she writes beautifully. Even if she did make me cry (and not just at the ending either)

Sammi I have read the book and I enjoyed it but also it saddened me to see what this poor child had gone through. I was pretty sure a few chapters in that I knew what the ending would reveal. Glad you liked it. Can you imagine all that little girl went through.....scarey that there are children like that in our world that can never have their voice heard

Joy, I think you will really like this book and find it a quick read.

Though the book was similar to other books I have read, the ending was very different. DebK, you are right, there are children out there in the world who live with this every day. Think of the Joel Steinberg case from years ago just as an example. If you want to read a truly horrifying true case read "Death From Child Abuse . . . . And No One Heard). There is so much I want to say about this book but don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet.
