August Friendship Flower

Well August is here and that means the summer is already 1/2 over for most of us. Can you believe it???? Hopefully we have all been enjoying some nice relaxing days . If you were wondering why I chose a magicians hat and wand it is because of the release of the latest Harry Potter novel. Have many of you read it yet??? We have it but none of us are on that book yet so we will have to wait to read it. Hope the rest of everyones holidays are funfilled......Anyone going anywhere special? We are done any major travelling for awhile but maybe a few side trips may be in order.

hugs Debbie

Hi everyone,

August already! I always have mixed feelings when August arrrives. On the one hand, my son's birthday is August 1, so that's always nice, but it does seem like summer is drawing to a close.

No trips on the horizon for us -- the 800 mile trip moving here was our big "adventure" this summer, other than the same trip back to take DS back to college in a few weeks. Sigh!

Hope you're all having a lovely day.

Liz

Cute wizard-hat pot!

I have read about 3 Harry Potter books. Then there was that BIG gap between books, and I know that I'd have to reread everything to catch up. There are so many books I want to read, I don't think I'll get to these anytime soon.

Big DS has read it twice already!

Fall is just around the corner.

DebK, I'm sure glad they caught that guy. I'd been sacred to death.

Wow Margaret, can't even imagine traveling in something like that.

I can't believe August is here already. Time sure flies when you are an adult!!
DebK I can't believe I didn't tell you how sorry I was for your loss of your uncle! I meant to and I don't know what happened. My sincere apologies and condolances to your family!
I am currently reading the last Harry Potter novel. I love all the books, own them all and all the movies too. I think she is a great writer with a wicked imagination. [wicked as in cool not evil]
Well I have a very busy day ahead. A job interview, errands, going to bring FIL to get the fluid drained out of his body, he gets excess since his liver doesn't work right and have to go to the uncles house to learn how to work his pool since while he is away we are going to use it.
Have wonderful day everyone.
Felicia

Margaret, neat pictures! I would love to have a camper. Are you feeling better? Soft hugs!

Debbie, I am so glad they caught the man! We a door to door search here once. It is so scarey.

My dd read the new HP book in six hours. I need to get number four and start on it. I can't wait to see the movie. Due to dd's allergies we watch all movies on dvd.

So far today I think we have cleaned up three cat poopy messes. I don't know what is wrong with this kitten!!! I wonder if she has a virus?

Dh and went to walmart last night. I bought material to make pjs and a kamoro type robe for dd's birthday. She wanted one with dragons. I missed one on ebay for .09. I couldn't find one online with matching pj. Wm had dragon material so I bought enough for the robe and pj bottoms. I don't know what I will do for a top since our WM does not carry knit fabric. The fabric is really pretty, a black background, red flames and gold dragons. She would have liked the orange flames and blue dragons but they didn't have enough material. After that costly trip, with buying very little groceries, I am staying out of WM!

Wow August already...gee I don't know where the time has gone this summer...

My daughter Crystal,Sherri, our son-in-law and grandkids Baleigh and Laucklan arrived here on July 21st...my youngest daughter Sherri, who is 27 and decided she did not want to be here...hubby and I ended up driving here to Dryden on the 22nd and she wasn't even here 24 hours...her choice...I found out that she was in Toronto on the Monday partying with her friends...hurt me but that was her choice...

My oldest daughter Crystal,son-in-law Jay and Baleigh and Laucklan had a blast the week they stayed here...so did I and hubby...Jay and Glen got to go fishing...we went blueberry picking and Crystal got to touch base with kids she went to school with...all in all it was wonderful...and our neighbors behaved themselves but only because the father was there...but I will take that over the loud music, parties and fights any time...

We won't be travelling any where this summer...hubby has to see 2 specialist in Kenora in September and still waiting to find out when he sees someone about his knee...2 weeks ago he smashed his knee at work and has been wearing a brace ever since...so we are hoping soon we will hear when he sees the specialist for that...

All in all I am looking forward to a relaxing month...I hope... Have been busy making jams for the winter...did Strawberry/Banana Jam and then yesterday made Strawberry/Pineapple...need to get more jams made and then get started on getting the pickles and relish's done...

I hope everyone has a wonderful month...

I guess I am the Odd Woman out...I have never read any of the Harry Potter Books and have never seen any of the Harry Potter Movies...saw previews but never really cared to watch any of them...strange I know...

Smiles & Hugs
Stay Well
Take Care...

August!

It has been a summer full of changes for us:

1. DD1 getting ready to go to college and working and driving on her own.
2. Me taking a job at PSU and trying to come up to speed before the students return.
3. Our big dog dying last week and making plans for a new pup in the spring.
4. Scheduling my surgery for early winter (Nov/Dec).
5. DD2 now studying for her learners permit.
6. DD2 attending a month of overnight camps, a first for our family.

I get the feeling that things just won't ever be an easy pace again. I haven't even had a chance to welcome Lizzie-Boo to town!

Well, now I can join DeBora with problems with ebay. I bid and won a study guide for A and p. I recieved today, the textbook. I contacted the seller and of course it is all my fault. She states that she explained this was the text book. She did not. And the picture on the bid page has changed to the textbook not the study guide. Don't ask me how she did this. I did ask for my money back plus shipping to return the book to her. I don't think she will work for me. I can use the book but was going to borrow this book from friends and buy the study guides for the kids.
