I'm reading "the Time Traveler's Wife" and I thought right away it would be cool in a movie if it was done right. Can't remember the author just now...

There are some great suggestions here--too bad the powers that be don't listen to us.
Elizabeth--I too Love the Nero Wolfe series on A&E and was disappointed when they cancelled it. I do think it stayed about as close to the books as any movie I have seen.

I have only read Maeve Binchy's Nights of Rain and Stars and agree that it could be a great movie.
I haven't had time to read The Time Traveler's Wife yet, but have heard it is a good book.
Remember we are assuming in this thread that the movie makers will stay true to the book (reality says otherwise) so suggest away.

I think the book written by Michael J.Fox "A Lucky Man" would make an excellent movie...I really enjoyed the book he wrote about his life and finding out he had Parkinson's...

Theresa --I am kind of surprised no one else has thought of making the Micheal J Fox book into a TV movie at the very least. He is such a popular entertainer and has been very outspoken about his medical condition.

Any other good book you think would make good movies? Remember we are going to pretendthat the producers and directors will stay true to the books.

I agree that the book would have to closely follow the book. So many are hardly recognizable unless the author does the screenplay & most don't. I find I almost always prefer the book to the movie.

I loved Rosamund Pilcher books. I think only one was made into a movie by Hallmark - The Shell Seekers. Similar to Maeve Binchey in continuing great characters. RPs were set in England & Scotland mainly.

I would love to see Janet Evanovich books as movies.
Also - Rita Mae Brown books - one book was made into a movie & it wasn't that great.
