NASCAR, Who Do You Love to Love and who do you love to hate?

I don't want any driver bashing, but I think it would be fun to talk about who you love to see win and who do you love to see lose or get taken out of a race? If your driver couldn't win, who else would you like to see in the winner's circle?

Those on my list of Love to Love are:
Bobby Labonte
Terry Labonte (hopefully, he'll race to Kyle this summer)
Kyle Petty, although he isn't in the sport to win
Mark Martin
Dale Jarret
Ryan Newman
Joe Nemecheck
Carl Edwards
Brian Vickers
Tony Stewart, when he controls himself
Jeff Gordon, because DH likes him

Those on my list, in order, of Love to Hate are:
Kurt Busch
Kyle Busch
Junior (Dale Earnhardt Jr.)
Robby Gordon

Mike Skinner

Everyone else, I am either indifferent to, or they are rookies and I don't know them well enough to decide. I think this is a sport in which half the fun is liking and disliking drivers.

My favorites is

Denny Hamlin, he was instantly a fave after he won the Bud shoot out last year
Tony Stewart
Can you tell that I am a Gibb's girl?
I also like J.J. Yeley but I think its just to keep it in JGR family (Go Team Chevy)

I like Matt Kenseth for the Ford's

I love to hate :
Kevin Harvick (just seems too pompous sometimes)
Elliot Sadler
Dale Jarret
Michael Waltrip (and it's not just because Toyota)

But all in all I just am sooooooo glad the race season has begun again, it felt like it had been forever since they last raced.

Oh Boy....I am not going to be popular here....hehe

In our house we like:

Me:

Kevin Harvick
Elliot Sadler
Tony Stewart
Ryan Newman

Who doesn't like Kyle Petty??? I like some others too but I don't favor them. I used to love Ward Burton when he was racing and I'm starting to warm up to Jeff Burton.

My DH is a Dale JR fan.
My DS is a Jeff Gordon fan

Those I really dont like:

Mark Martin!
Darrell Waltrip gets on my nerves in the booth
I used to like Micheal Waltrip but I dont any more--and I love Toyotas so that's not the reason for me either.
Kurt Busch
Kyle Busch

and Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon get to me when they whine.

I think that the race season is way to long too.

With that combination, there must be a few "discussions" in your house. lol

April, as I look at your list of likes, I figure you must also be a big football fan. lol

Donna, I sure hope Juan Pablo Montoya finds success. He is such a nice guy. Unfortunately, many of the open-wheel drivers don't find stock car driving to be as successful. I guess we'll see this season.

I am SO excited that NASCAR season started! Did you know Dave Blaney was penalized 5 laps for sailed through pit road during that wreck that brought out the red flad? He was going about 185 mph when the wreck happened. As he went sailing, he was traveling about 155 mph, through the pits. That is a violation because of the dangerousness.

Speaking of dangerous, remember the wreck with the pit crew member, Josh Yost who injured his ankle? (There were 2, but most people know about this one.) Anyway, he will have surgery on Thursday on his Archilles tendon.

Actually I am not much into football, now if it is on I get into it and root for the Redskins if they are playing, but nothing that I will automatically watch for on t.v, now watching the little league's is another story they look so cute out there running around and their body is so tiny that it looks like they are going to fall over from being so top heavy. my son will get to play this year and I cannot wait.

On the NASCAR front how has everybody done on navigating through the newly designed site? I am getting used to it but was a pain at first. And I am def loving the Trackpass so I am patiently waiting for the race to head to California this weekend. WOOT WOOT!!!!!!

April, I am with you! It seems like they change the Web site every season and it IS such a pain to get used to.

I too love TrackPass. This season, we have the luxury to listen to ALL the drivers instead of their faves, which I am totally in love with! Have you tried FanView? I tried it, but I never got to see the 3D cars! So, I called them and they told me I had to have Fire Fox instead of Internet Explorer. So, I cancelled it. I have the scanner and PitCommand.

Also, do you ever check out Jayski? I get most of my information there. I go to another place where ppl post who are connected to NASCAR like certain drivers, spotters, one NASCAR official, and several fans, but I don't post outside of Bobby's forum since the owner is a bit of a jerk. I mean, he tries to keep the place from driver bashing, which I admire, but he can be rude to ppl. Anyway, I am curious to your thoughts on TrackPass and Jayski. Anybody is welcome to respond.

We sampled fanview, I wasn't very impressed the graphics were very choppy and it really is not worth the extra $.
I love Trackpass it is so neat to listen to the drivers and spotters and watching the live leader board.
DirecTv's hot pass was really neat, I don't know if you have it or not but it has 6 channels 1 that splits all drivers and the other 5 that just has that one driver, you get a in car camera constantly streaming, then a feed of the car on the track, commentators that follow just that one driver split into 3 screens. We watched Tony's when there was a commercial break and when he wrecked they went to Denny then when he wrecked they went to J.J. It was very neat and I think they are going to rotate different drivers on the channels each week.
I have heard of Jayski but never have really gotten around to checking it out and totally forgot about it, thanks for bringing it up.
It is nice to find somebody else (a woman) that is as much into Nascar as I am. It's nice to have a womans perspective, even though I am about as bad as men are when the race is on and something happens I yell, jump up and scream, and fuss at the other drivers about as bad as I've seen some men lol. I will hopefully get to finally see a live race, Bristol is only 2hrs away so maybe this will be the year I get to go, so keep your fingers crossed for me .

I am glad to be able to talk to a female that is into NASCAR too. I too am as bad as a man. lol I do have Direct TV, but I didn't know how good the Hot Pass was and was afraid to get it without knowing much about it. Now I want to talk to DH about getting it. lol Does Direct TV also show qualifying and practice or race only?

Jayski is a bit difficult to read through if you aren't familiar with it. It is enormous. It shows news, rumors, and everything for every single driver! So, there is alot to it. It even shows future special paint schemes for each driver's cars. But, it can be boring for someone who isn't into the news part of NASCAR. lol

I am fit to be tied this evening. Someone posted on Bobby's site that wasn't nice. He/she was so negative. Now, several of us have posted about the inappropriateness of the posting. One person, whom I actually know, from Canada, had part of his (his and his wife's names are listed though) post omitted by the Web master because he was so mad that he used a naughty word. lol I wish fans would post negative things on a driver's site. Well, I will get off my soapbox.

I am hoping that I am home in time to watch qualifying Friday. I think it will be on Trackpass on time, but I think it will be shown later, in a taped version, on television. Bummer.

DirecTV just shows the race but I don't know if they are going to expand or not to qualifying depending on how popular it is. They had the sample last weekend for Daytona, the channels are 794 through 799 I believe. This week is Elliot Sadler, Jeff Burton, Juan Pablo Montoya, Matt Kenseth, and Dale Jr.
I know what you mean when people are negative, I have my opinions on some of the drivers but I keep them to myself,(well at least in my house) I just think that its what I want if somebody doesn't like my guys and I have no right to blast somebody elses favorite because I know how mad it makes me when somebody talks crap about my guys.
What site do you go to for Bobbys' forums? Is it Jayski or somewhere else? I love Terry there will never be anybody like the "Iceman" in my own opinion. I haven't really watched Bobby that much but I will start watching and rooting for ya, but you gotta root for Denny for me lol. I have been on Jayski's all day I love that site so thanks again for the reminder.
We are gonna have to start a new thread for racedays so we can enjoy the race in cyberspace as well I think that would be cool.
Do you like the Busch series? Truck series? I love Busch but just cannot seem to get into the trucks as much as the others. Oh well I am gonna head back over to Jayski's that is on of my new favorite NASCAR related sites.
