I sort of like this time that we are in but would have liked to have been born after the depression period...but when I give it more thought it wasn't really as bad as living in other periods of time past..and of course living in the lap of luxury would have been nice....

Haley's grandmom
I would have loved to be born in the early 1800's. I have sat for hours on end when my grandmom's were alive listening to their stories. Things were hard back then but, also, I think more simple. They lived a simple life and mostly lived off the land. I wish they were here today so I could hear more of theeir stories. It was so interesting, and, there was so much love in their lives, families were closer than they are today.
I would have like to live in the early to mid 1800"s. It seemed then families were closer, neighbors, even though they may live a mile or so away always managed to help their neighbors. The living may have been hard, but compared to life today it seems back then was a lot less stressful.

I agree with you.
~So many times to decide on. Let's build a time travel machine & visit all the era's.
I would liked to have lived in the 1950's life seemed so much simpler and they still had "modern" convients

I definetly would like to have lived in the Medievel era in Scotland, Ireland or Germany. Today is way too disappointing! Second choice would be in Montana in the early 1800's for the seclusion and beauty. I do think life would have been more difficult there than in medievel times. Plumbing and lighting were readily available even if somewhat cruder than now. I still plan on finding a spot maybe in Montana that is as secluded as possible.
Right now! it is like all other times - ppolitical turmoil, war and rumors of war, and many, many opportunities to prosper and be happy!
We too often look back at what seems to be easier, simpler times, but actually living in them would demonstrate how hard and complicated living then was. The 1950's weren't all they are touted to be - believe me!
Cheerio!

Even though I know now, there were bad things going on all over the world, I would still choose the 1960s. Since I was just a kid I was not exposed to anything harmful that was going on in the world and life was full of Barbies, koolaid stands, summer camp, Camp Fire girls, Trick or treating, going to the library and McDonalds on my bike and not having to lock it, swimming at Wrights park, feeding the birds, fireworks on the waterfront, Me-Me taking me to Woolworhts, twirling my baton in the annual daffodil parades, sitting on Go-Go's porch singing camp songs , Archie comic books and on and on.
(My childhood wasn't totally void of hurts but I can look back at all these simple , happy things and they make me smile.
